I don't get why people aren't happy that he apologized? He's admitted that he f*cked up and he took accountability for his actions, what more is expected?

Lmao still trying to downplay it. He didn't need to mention anything about quotes or lyrics. Half ass apology written by a publicist/PR person.

Okay I looked into it, maybe no voting but:

"...He also said girls who say they're free-spirited are "sluts" and seemingly vocalized his support for Donald Trump."

This isn't accurate. They're referring to a post where he mentions trump but the post is very clearly ironic and not in support of him.

Holding yourself accountable is just a YouTube title at this point ROFL.

I just can’t get behind text apologies. I know this day in age this may be acceptable, but hearing and seeing people apologize feels more genuine to me.

Is it really such a surprise?

I don't understand? Do apologies need to be surprises for them to be believed?

Y’all need to stop cancelling these people because I’m so tired of you forcing them to put out these fake ass apologies that sounds like they’re reading off of a script :ladyhaha:

Because this is obviously a PR-driven apology dressed up as a genuine apology lol

Everyone says bad words & EVERYONE makes offensive jokes in private, I’m so over people acting like they’ve never said an off color joke or word before. It’s f*cking ridiculous. No one would’ve cared if he weren’t dating Billie Eilish but because people don’t like the fact that he’s older than her they’ve dug through his past in search for stuff like this which no matter how much you try to defend that I will never believe that’s normal behavior. That is the behavior of a mentally unstable person. If you’re so obsessed with people you don’t know to the point of digging up decade old posts to cancel someone in their life who you don’t like then you seriously need to get help? Like get help for all of our sakes.

I mean that's probably the case but what else could have happened? it sounds sincere at least. If he did a whole video or stories or something, everyone would start dragging him for them too.

And before anyone jumps on me and says I'm defending him because I like Billie, I genuinely don't care about him. What he said was horrible and that's not even debatable. it's just so weird how people online beg for apologies then trash them as soon as they get them. I get that a lot of celebrity do these fake apologies and then act like idiots again, but I don't think this is the case because he's not even a famous person.

Either way he apologized? No matter how many times he or anyone that’s canceled online apologizes people will continue defending treating them like sh*t cause it wasn’t “sincere enough” for them. Like it’s a cycle at this point. People find someone they don’t like, dig through a decade of their lives, find something cancel worthy, blast them, they apologize & then everyone just treats them like sh*t validating it by using their past & saying they only apologized cause they were canceled. Like holy f*** everyone acting like they’ve NEVER said an offensive word or joke in their entire lives or like they don’t actively do it in private. Pls 🙄
