If u dont mind me asking how was her tone and attitude when she told u? How did u react back? Its optional u dont have to answer these if u dont want to :enigma:

Well I walked in and said hello as her & her husband were there. Her husband asked me to give him the key I have to the back door and I asked him why, and he said "just give it to me" but I persisted and said, "I want to know why.", he said read this paper and you'll find out, which was like a "notification of termination" or whatever with a breakdown of my final pay and severance.

I signed it and turned to my boss, I was pretty emotional at this point like on the verge of tears and I told her that I wasn't trying to threaten her and that I didn't care about the money, in fact I would gladly pay her the tip money as a personal favour. And she said "It's not because of that, it's just because of the pandemic" but she seemed pretty dead eyed and insincere (she is usually a very bubbly and casual person).

I took photos of my punch card so I could fill out the EI info accurately and asked if there was anything else they needed, they said no so I said, "Okay, bye" and walked out.

I totally forget that I left a bunch of personal stuff there (like kitchen supplies that were from my own home or that I purchased myself to make work easier) but I don't care anymore tbh.

Also worth noting that she just hired three new people like a few weeks prior to this.

I also forgot a bunch of stuff in my first job when i got let go cuz of emotion. But in my case it wasnt due to tension. I got hired for summer after highschool co-op ended cuz they liked me but September/October came a a new co-op student for free labor took over :triggered:

But i wasnt unemployed for long cuz i got hired like 2 weeks later where my dad works to which i then proceeded to get underpaid for the next 8 years

im just so glad i finally found this new job cuz for once i actually like the job and im happy with my pay :ladyhaha:

Anyway im trailing off. Sorry again this happened to u. At least EI weeks are longer right now cuz unemployment is a bit high so should give u time to find something else. Keep me posted :)

id say apply to my company cuz were still hiring ($20/h starting wage abd they treat us really good and even give us monthly walmart gift cards for perfect attendance, 2 paid personal days, health insurance and pension plan matching 3% of income and they give us longer breaks than most companies) but i think u said once u dont like physical labor so if thats a deal breaker for u then i say nvm. But if its something ud consider lemme know i can give u link (its located in Mississauga not far from Pearson Airport)

Edit: i also wanna add most of the coworkers are awesome. The forklift driver in particular shes halerious. She always cracks me up and buys us all coffee too which i always accept

In other words, inflation is for sure on its way just in time for the midterms. Can't wait to see the political consequences of that. /s
