I actually think it's disrespectful to Tony's long, iconic, career to refer to not even make reference to his name when creating an acronym for the chronology of Gaga's albums. Imagine if the world called Cheek to Cheek "TB58" as a shorthand, totally ignoring the fact that it was a collaboration album between two artists Gaga and Tony...

I also understand Tony's name isn't "Bennett Tony" however I truly believe Gaga's discography needs to refer to her two albums with Tony as LGBT and a LGBT+ and nobody can convince me otherwise.

Whether or not an album is labeled "LG#" is not some high honor tho :laughga:. It's just an easy way to reference her solo albums, especially when talking about an album that isn't titled yet.

I suppose you're right. It's a way. Is it doing it justice to Lady Gaga's progression though?

Maybe LG5TB1

Cheek to Cheek wasn't Tony's debut album bestie. It was his 58th studio album.
LG5TB1 is dismissive of Tony's long, iconic career and LG5TB58 seems like an aggressively long short hand.

I think the easiest way to track Gaga's career by going LG1, LG2, LG3, LG4, LGTB1, LG5, ASIB, LG6, LGBT2, LG7.

It's not disrespectful to acknowledge that these albums are collaborations and that she made two collaboration albums with Tony Bennett. In fact I think it's the most respectful way of doing things. LG# simply tracks her solo studio albums and overlooking the contributions of Tony Bennett by erasing his name from the projects they worked on together and treating it the same as any Lady Gaga project is offensive imo.

I also personally prefer ASIB to LGBC because:

#1 People don't really think of Bradley Cooper as a singer, so further into her career "BC" isn't an instantly recognisable acronym.

#2 Gaga, Cooper and their collaborators worked on this soundtrack with a story and movie characters in mind so although the music comes from their brain, she didn't direct the project and it's specific to the movie which is the "main project".

Bio

It’s not a solo album, it’s a cover album and it’s an album very few people listened to more than once. So no.

I agree with the OP. If it was up to me, C2C and ASIB would be labelled as LG5 and 7. I don't think it would be disrespectful to Tony. The album name is still the album name and he can label it as TB517 or whatver if he likes. Ariana, BP and Elton are featured on Chromatica, Florence is on Joanne etc.

It ain't up to me though. If Gaga says Chromatica is LG6, then Chromatica is LG6.

I love Cheek to Cheek, I used to play it while my friend was driving to/from work. I jammed to it a lot, it gives me peace. As a matter of fact I like it way more than I like Joanne, for an example. But it's a covers album, it's also an album that two different artists teamed up for a special project.

The same thing goes for A Star Is Born, it's a soundtrack. It was made by Gaga, but it is still a soundtrack, an amazing one BTW.

I am authistic, so don't be offended if I make a mess sometimes.

Aphasic

C2C is not an LG album. PeriodT. Tony asked Gaga to collaborate with him.

It’s a DUET album. It’s not a Gaga album and it’s not a Tony album. It’s a Gaga & Tony album. It’s not hard sis

Counting C2C as a a GAGA album makes as much sense as counting ASiB. ACTUALLY - if anything argument would be better to count ASiB as an LG# because she at least did writing for the music on there. Either way collaborative albums like this do not count count as LG# because there is an entire other collaborator with their own solo songs on it and calling it LG# just kinda discards their importance.

Gaga also said "LG5 time" in 2015 so she already didn't count C2C. Tho it is better than the actual LG5 :fan:
