If "Give Me All Your Luvin'" was released by a younger artist it would've been a hit

I never understood this logic... if any song was released by any other performer, it would be a totally different song. That's like saying "if *hit song* was released by *other singer* it wouldn't have been a hit".

Of course people have different expectations from different singers. Would "Like a Virgin" have been a hit for Aretha Franklin? Hung Up for David Bowie?

Who's That Girl was a massive #1 all over the world, but somehow it has been absent from Madonna's tours after 1987, and Madonna has largely ignored the song till the Rebel Hear Tour

You're putting too much thought into what it actually means. it doesn't ACTUALLY mean if someone else sang it, its about the hypocrisy that certain (usually older) artists don't get the commercial success when releasing songs just as strong as those who do get commercial success

Give It 2 Me :vegas: It's probably one of my most-played Madonna songs of all time. It's just so addictive. Best track on Hard Candy, it gave me all of the Confessions dance vibes that I was hoping for

They were both played everywhere in the UK when they were released bc we had taste. I can't believe Get Together didn't even chart in the US:bradley:

Oh God, I never knew these songs weren't big in the US, in France they were everywhere :wtfga:

Same for Hollywood, wtf, have I been living in a parallel universe?!

Literally! The Confessions singles really didn’t do too well in the US. Hung Up did okay, but Get Together and Jump didn’t chart at all (blasphemous) and Sorry didn’t crack the top 40 :bradley: I think it’s because 2005 music in the USA was more R&B and rap oriented so they weren’t here for the electro-disco revival :madge:
