If someone stole my home you’d be sure as hell that I’d be fighting and violent. Only people that don’t have to deal with my struggle would have the privilege to blabber stuff like “neutral” and at that point I’d rather them shutup if they won’t be helping me fight against my oppressor.

Y’all love to use buzz words like “anti-racism, colonization, and ethnic cleansing” when looking back at historic violations of rights but choose to be neutral when it’s actively happening in your lifetime.  If you’re neutral in this conflict, you would have been neutral with slavery, the Holocaust, and the civil rights movement.

I understand where you're coming from and while I am a "pacifist" it would be foolish to say that conflict can always be avoided. Damn straight I'd fight against suppression and I do think we need to help the fight. I truly didn't mean to upset you I just was offering a possible interpretation of what Demi may have meant. I can see how it came across as a little "just stop fighting" as I don't want to state who I stand with and cause a fight :kara:

Being “neutral” in this conflict means unwaveringly supporting Palestine.

Really? I think it means the exact opposite. Israel has virtually all the power in this conflict. So if you're staying neutral, you're basically siding with the oppressor (Israel) since you're not calling them out.

I don’t think Israel really cares when they’re bombing Palestinians, which I’m sure many of them are from the LGBTQ community. It’s actually quite embarrassing that you as someone from this community support an apartheid state that uses state sponsored terrorism against other minority groups. But it doesn’t affect you so it’s all about Me me me for you.

This is what happens when the American education system whitewashes history and glorifies the colonizer. :yennefer:

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

Months ago it was a topic no one would bring up cause most admited to not be informed enough. Which is pretty normal, since its a long conflict that gets reignated every year or so. And you get lost in it.

But seems like the internet. Mostly us twitter decided it was great time to care, cause theres no more black lives matter, me too movement etc. :cyanlights:.  And decided this is the right position.

Im very honest, ive got nowhere ever reading articles about this. Im pretty sure yall would find it difficult to "side" with palestine in the 2000s.

Bold of you to assume the American education system touched on the Israel-Palestine conflict.... at all.

That's kind of what I was hinting at; we don't even learn about the Native American genocide properly. It's always framed as "necessary evil" for Manifest Destiny.

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

I meant in the sense that there is absolutely nothing that would justify supporting Israel. I understand your point though I see how it could be misinterpreted. I think I meant “neutrality” as in human decency and common sense not to supoort the oppressor.

Endless people have been constantly speaking up in support of Palestine for decades, the difference now is that a lot more people have joined this support because social media has helped propagate it and educate people on it. Just because it wasn't as prominent in the West doesn't mean it's the new "trend" as another lovely user has put it. This isn't a joke or a fun activity to do online then forget about (and neither is BLM, might I add, and its fully disrespectful to think so), this is a constant fight against colonialism that has been going on for decades and that will continue until liberation.

What a joke! :smh:

I don't understand how anyone can see the tragic footage from both Gaza and Israel and yet still fail to see where the real humanitarian crisis is. This isn't a conflict. This isn't a war.  This isn't about two equal sides. This is about colonialism and occupation that both need to end immediately.

More than 230 Palestinians were killed and 91,000 have been displaced due to the Israeli aggression on Gaza but yeah stay neutral and call this a both-sided conflict so you won't get dropped by your label or lose a concert contract in Tel Aviv or something lol
