RAMROD 109,802
I am shooketh today, knowing Yoncé's LEMONADE is already 5 years old in 2021. Has it been that long?? Have you ever gone thru this moment? ProfessionalClown 10,647
While it’s not NOW Femme Fatale was definitely a very strong electro pop in the idea of ARTPOP that was before it’s time. Same with Blackout.

Oriane 21,133
I came here expecting OLD music and was curious to see what examples you had It seems music recording and production technology hasn't evolved that much these past years compared to before. ARTPOP was out in 2013 but you can listen to it today and it sounds like it could have been made yesterday. But listen to The Fame that was released in 2008, ouch, it's obvious that the technology has evolved a lot since, the beats etc are too harsh. It amazes me that there was more progress in these 5 years than the 8 years we've had since ARTPOP. I notice the same thing in video games. StrawberryBlond 14,900
I got nearly all of these from the GTA V Nonstop Pop radio station (which is awesome, by the way) as well as custom playlists that other people made. They feature such timeless songs like... N-Joi - Anthem (released in 1990) In the words of Cara Delevigne - sounds just like a modern pop record. Granted, she said this line for a video game released in 2013 but this was certainly what a lot of new music sounded like at the time. And there definitely is something so modern about it. Parts of Chromatica even reminded me of this a little. Moloko - The Time Is Now (released in 2000) That beat is so current indie sounding. This even sounds like the kind of indie girl voice that is so common now. I couldn't believe it when I looked up when this song was released as I'd never heard it before and assumed it must have been very recent. Everything But The Girl - Missing (Todd Terry Remix) (released in 1992) That dance beat will work in any time period. It blows my mind this was released so long ago. The only thing that gives it away is her somewhat retro way of singing. Rozalla - Everybody's Free (To Feel Good) (released in 1991) Yes, it does sound super 90's but sounds like the throwback sound that's popular now and it's the sort of thing you'd hear on gym playlists. Ace Of Base - All That She Wants (released in 1992) When it started, I didn't know anything about it and assumed it must be recent. That beat is so current, it's unbelievable. The lead singer even sounds like Sia somewhat! I can't get over that this song is approaching 30 years old, I saw a lot of the comments saying the same thing. So saying, such a song would be blasted for s**t shaming if it was released today. But it's still a bop.
