Not a stan, so I can only offer perspective from a casual GP member. 1989 is what made me know her beyond the country girl who Kanye messed with. I'd go with that.

1989 was my fav for such a long time until Taylor released Folklore. 1989 for me is like the younger pop sister and folklore is the mature sister who is wise. The nostalgia of listening to Folklore late quarantine summer was so therapeutic for me, it made me reflect on myself.

I know many here will say 1989 only cuz it’s her “pop perfection” era, but honestly it’s Red.

I said 1989 'cause it's the only one I really know of

Agree. Red has country, folk, pure pop, electro pop and dubstep, and rock influence on some songs. I’m waiting for her full on rock albums

Out of what I assume will be the top three: Red, 1989 and Folklore I think Folklore.

Red I think is the most 'Taylor Swift' record we have gotten so far, the song writing was there, it was on the line of pop and country and felt very personal.

1989 is obviously her biggest record to date however I don't think that that should be the soul reason for it being named her magnum opus, it is a great record tho.

folklore is my choice, the songwriting is some of her best, felt very personal but also saw her writing outside of her own point of view. It also reflected the current state of the world in the midst of the pandemic and was very relatable for many people.

almost everything is pretentious and hurts my hears, but I chose reputation, 'cause it s whole-souled/cohese in its tackiness ;)

Both albums makes me wanna live in a cabin in the middle of the forest thinking about all my loves

I spent a week at my friends lakeside cabin when folklore came out and it was an EXPERIENCE! Wandering in the woods in the evening to Seven was magical

ot: I’d say folklore or 1989

Ma'am I guess you didn't get the memo, we all agreed to replace the stolen version cover with the Taylor's Version one.

I'd say Fearless, bc it's her breakthrough, but isn't her biggest, 1989 maybe, but Red (her first album that made her known ww) and folklore are near too.

Up until Folklore it was Red.

These two show off Taylor at the best of her abilities, highlighting what sets her apart from other massive pop stars, her song writing skills.

She’s never been a good dancer, she’s not a drop dead amazing singer, yes she’s very musically gifted (guitar and piano) but she’s not the best mainstream version of that either. What she is, however, is a damn good songwriter, and these two albums show this off best.

(i will say that she and Lorde are the only two of my faves who have yet to put out an album that i don’t love)

Something that interests me about these two is their cultural significance respectfully.

Folklore was acclaimed right out of the gate in a way that a Taylor album had never been before. It was immediately decided to be THE quintessential quarantine album and the best of her career by many.

Red on the other hand, though positively received on release, received this MASSIVE amount of retrospective acclaim. It was as if people realized that Taylor was one of the most significant things to exist last decade, and that this was the only album to truly signify her dominance and craft. It has a 77 on metacritic yet is one of the highest rated albums of the decade on decade-end lists, and for a long time was understood as the peak of Taylor’s abilities (up until Folklore of course).

Both are amazing (as are all her albums imo), but i do believe that Folklore is going to be remembered as 2020’s most important album in the future.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.
