The part about her love life sounds out of place but everything else she's right about. Sure it doesn't sit right with me that she thinks that much money is not enough, but in comparison to her peers, it's not fair. Let's not pretend wage gaps are not a reality. And f*ck Hollywood indeed. Good on her for calling out the sh!t industry.

And I agree with her about the writing on Pose. I love the show, but it does suffer from bad writing on many occasions.

She was fighting for her community and speaking her truth, I respect her for that. I just wish she would’ve done it in a less messy way.

She may be blacklisted for a while but she is incredible so I know she will still have some opportunities out there.

I can't help but feel bad for her tbh. It sounds like a breakdown of sorts. She must have had a lot of pent up frustration. Black women have to work twice, three times as hard as their peers to get the one tenth of the recognition, so I hope this doesn't hurt her that much.

The amount is irrelevant, she's not paid the same as her peers and that's not fair.

Speaking up is always welcome, but I also worry for her career now, though she doesn't seem to care, but after this, she might as well be black balled from the showbiz.

Gurl, she just had a meltdown in front of everyone. I stand by her when she complained about how much she was being payed, but the rest of it was completely unnecessary.

Like people said here, she got her first mainstream chance and bit the hand that fed her.

Is Pose a ratings success? F*** NO! BUT it brings credibility, it has major cult following and is critically acclaimed.

Does she deserve more money? SURE! But let's not forget misster Ryan Murphy invested a lot of his own money in it. He gave a chance no one ever gave to a trans person to tell their own story on mainstream media. It's a success and he profited from it, but if it was a failure he would lose his money, she wouldn't lose anything and would still get credit.

I don't think it's career suicide, I just think she won't be doing any mainstream media in the near future.

 

I also don't think the first two episodes are bad at all, they are amazing. Better than the AIDS snooze-fest cliche that was season 2. I am done with AIDS related drama.

Shes bringing up racial and gender inequality here that shes a victim of while simultaneously exposing inequalities of capitalism shes priveleging and benefiting from. She may be benefiting LESS than a white or a male but shes still benefiting from a system that allows such disproportionate wealth. Its like complaining if u had 1000 people in a lotery of life and she got 4th best not 1st, 2nd or 3rd

 

That still puts her well in the top 0.5% of earning individuals if not more. Shes more privedlged overall than the vast majority of individuals so the victim speech to me looses a bit of value at least as far as the money comment goes

 

That beind said, it doesnt mean she didnt bring up a lot of important points about other inequalities. One doesnt erase the other
