Not Kate Bush or Fiona Apple because they actually are the pioneers of this genre. I kinda confused, what people mean when they said "alternative"? Is that a word people use to discribe the non-popular music?
Guest Adarsh
Fiona Apple and sometimes Bjork

Alternative is basically the alternative you have to mainstream & moreradio-friendly music. Alternative is supposed to be more experimental, weird and not be played too much on the radio. But isn't Kate Bush were like, very popular back in time? And we have to kick Lana and Billie out, I guess... This is gonna be messy if I keep asking and thinking... Her singles have had various levels of succes in UK, her home country. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kate_Bush_discography It seems ike she had 5 top 5 songs! The Ninth Wave (second part of Hounds of Love) is very highly conceptual and not mainstream in any way for example, the same goes to her latest release (50 Words for Snow). She's popular for being Kate Bush, not exactly for being radio-friendly if you get what I mean. Soft, soothing, and succulent

Only been generalizing for the sake of the joke.
