Yes, they deserve, the movie was hurtful to we, autistic people, it spreads misinformation and negative stereotypes and was made with the help of a hate group.

It's funny how NT people feel entitled to say what hurts people with autism and totally ignore autistic people's voice. GP would never dare to opose what black people say about racism, gay people about homophobia, trans people transphobia and so on, but suddenly every one is specialist in autism.

I know a lot about autism because i was suspected of having it (high functioning autism, also known by some as aspergers) so i did sessions and phyic tests with proffessionals a couple years ago to come up with a diagnoses and stuff

Turns out i actually dont have autism i have ADHD. It does overlap and have some simmilar symptoms so its not surprising that connection was innitially made

But the point is at first i dismissed the possibility i could be autistic because i didnt know much about it. When i thought autistic i imagined the stereotypes i see on tv and entertainment which can apply to some of the more severe cases of autism but are not actually the majority

So i can definitely see why spreading stuff that further feeds on to it is problematic

That being said i dont think Sia meant to do anything with an ill intent. I think she was merely neglegent and should habe thought thru these things better

365 days should have won all the awards :cryga:

I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been more outrage about this movie. It deserves it.

Call me PC or whatever but I really don't think we need a negative awards show like this. Awarding people as the 'worst' is pretty terrible and just pointless and harmful

What's PC?

btw I think yeah it comes from a negative place, but pragmatically it may serve as an incentive for moviemakers to avoid producing garbage... like resources could be diverted to more fruitful endeavours I suppose...

We had this talk in my film classes and we learned a bit about the history of the ceremony and it’s place in the business. It’s all tongue and cheek and in good fun though. In may cases the celebrities themselves will come and pick up their trophy. Hell, Sandra Bullock attended the event in person one year to give a speech and everything. Believe me, most people who win a Razzie are very entertained by it, it’s a very well liked event within the business and the people who run it are very well connected with the business. They’re not at all meant to be serious, hence many of the categories being absurd.

I  agree with everything you said and I am 100% sure she didn't mean harm at first, but she humiliated an autistic actress, was very stuborn about not accepting her mistakes when she was confronted, she joined an association that is considered a hate group.

In the end she did harm and should be held responsible anyway. The way to hell is paved with good intentions.

BTW I am a high functioning autist and I was under suspicions of ADHD my whole life, but just the correct therapy for autism helped me.

I am authistic, so don't be offended if I make a mess sometimes.

The Razzies have existed for years and I don't see Hollywood trying to produce fewer bad movies :ally:

Halle Berry also famously attended to accept her award for Worst Actress in Catwoman. I love when celebrities don't take themselves too seriously.

THIS, actually the amount of negativity around ceremony awards is much bigger than the razzies, all this kind of ceremony awards in pop culture are nonsense, arts are not sports, art is not measurable and it is subjective, nor the success of a piece of art makes it better, they only create segregation and artists wanting to shape their art according that human machine
