Well it was the jury who came to the conclusion I'm sure they felt pressured to pass down a guilty verdict because of what would happen if they didn't but that's somewhat irrelevant since he literally is guilty.

I'm hoping this doesn't calm the fire under peoples bellies. If they let off the gas when it comes to pushing for police reform then nothing will change. We can't let one dude getting what he deserved be the end of it, it has to be a beginning.

This message really should have been established and understood long ago, but here we are.  
 

I see your point, but that would be penalising him to "send a message". The systemic racism issue goes far deeper than this single but rare conviction. He deserves a fair trial, it's a basic human right.

And even though he technically hasn't received a fully fair trial because it was publicised on such a global scale (and everyone knows riots would have followed if he somehow got off), true justice has actually been served TODAY - something that rarely happens in cases like this, if they ever even reach the court. And cases like his rarely ever reach the courts. 

Let's be hopeful of progress after this. He deserves these guilty charges.

I'm still unable to process what must be going through his brain to make him think he's NOT guilty of literally kneeling on the neck of a man for minutes on end and not letting him breathe. I know evil has a way of justifying itself but like..?? What even are his lawyers or attorneys saying in his defense?

They just harped on the fact that Floyd was a drug user and had health problems. Which is true but he would still be alive today if a certain cop didn't sit on his windpipe for nearly 10 minutes so

I heard that too but this would make sense if they were restraining him and his neck snapped after a few seconds or something, that may be argued to be an accident. But 10 whole minutes??????? How do they think anyone is going to find him not guilty? Also aren't the fellow cops with him going to get charges too for assisting murder? My god
