Alfonso 1,547
Yes, like it or not, it's one of her best songs (not to mention one of her most successful ones), so it's sad to not have it
StrawberryBlond 14,815
She should totally put in the solo version or the Xtina version. That one makes more sense since it is about a woman's body issue and 2 women are singing on it and it was such an iconic scene seeing as both of them were pitted as rivals just 3 years prior and now they were teaming up. As much as I love it, I always thought R Kelly's verse was odd in the sense that it didn't seem to have any correlation to the rest of the lyrics and it was just like he was singing a love song. I'm sure he just wrote his lines so if they aren't featured, how can he make money from it? And the re-recording idea is the best. If Taylor can do that (including her collabs) and thereby ensure that Scooter isn't making any money from these tracks, how can Gaga not do the same? To remove such a pivotal song from the album when there are ways to work around it is nonsensical. 4 minutes ago, sexy said: She should re-record it with The Weeknd and add that version. Reminds me of how Gaga just picked the wrong guy to collab with and not just because of his criminal antics. R Kelly was an outdated name by 2013. If she'd worked with an established, young RnB artist like Drake or The Weeknd (who was an up and coming artist at the time), she could have totally smashed, it could have totally gone top ten in the US. The Weeknd would be the dream if she was going to re-record it with a current name. But I think it will remain exactly that - a dream.

I fully support the removal of the version with R Kelly, but she should've replaced it with the duet version with Xtina. And I believe there was a solo version floating around? The song was a single and a core part of Gaga's message about the media and her fame at the time, and removing it entirely feels a bit like erasing history. THIS. And if you think about it, the Xtina duet is way more significant than the original version. Both empowered women, who had struggle with mental health and who have been attacked by public opinion. monstrosity 3,943
Omg no the song will always be linked to him, at least for her, she would never think about it for a sec
Amidana 4,262
I only said no because R. Musty would profit from the song. If there was any ANY way she can get him off writing credits of course I'd say yes. It's one of my most favorite songs EVER and I was so sad when it was taken off!!!! Angelina Stefania 427
I think if it is, it should just be the solo version. It never made sense to me how Christina sang the verse about bones hurting. That is something personal Gaga went through and she should sing it herself. Haralampos 2,063
The solo version wasn't indented to be released at the time, just a Universal trying to avoid royalties from other labels (Sony) on hit combilations. Gaga chose to use her lyrics on the remix with Aguilera. So it's just kinda rude to include the solo version now. That says it all.
Guest
does he gets royalties if she sings it live ?
efrs 435
I support re-recording with no writing credits for R Kelly. omg a version w The Weeknd would be earth shattering
Eido 3,673
No, cause the minute her team will do that, the medias will jump on this occasion to remind every single soul on this planet about the music video and the original featuring

That said, I voted 'add back'. But R Kelly had nothing to do with the solo song... So this isn't true.
MonsterOfSpain 8,318
It's the best song on the album along with Applause so yes, I recently got my ARTPOP Blue UO Vinyl and the tracklist looks so weird without DWUW... However the original version with R. Kelly will remind the best one forever.
Werk 13,166
That song is tainted but its production and melody is definitely great so my question is would it be possible for if Gaga hypothetically legit wanted to rerelease it but was worried about the lyrics, can she rewrite the lyrics but keep everything else as in the melody/production? Would this also possibly solve the R. Kelly credits issue ?
RichAssPiss 4,914
How would R. Kelly profit from the solo version? It was written and recorded without his involvement. He came in and wrote a different verse that does not appear in the solo version. Can someone explain?
