The song was written by Lady Gaga, RedOne and Akon, and it features American singer Colby O’Donis. The song received positive reviews from music critics, who complimented its club, anthem-like nature and the sound associated with it. The song reached number one in the United States, Australia, Canada, Greece, Ireland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, as well as the top five in the Czech Republic, Hungary, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland, Spain, and Sweden. Released on April 25, 2008, the video was directed by music video director Melina Matsoukas, and is based on the thematic content of the song of being in a party. The single was released on CD, Digital Download and Vinyl. After Just Dance, Lady Gaga released more singles and her debut album THE FAME. And the rest is history.
