I'm not taking a side, I just want to ask something. Isn't age of consent in most states 16? Also why do 2 years make that big of a difference. 14, sure that's a child but me being 18 now I feel the same as when I was 16. I have voluntarily participated in sexual activity with older men when I was 16 trough sexting and I neither felt assauled nor as a victim. It's literally sexting, saving and sharing the photos exchanged is illegal but why is exchanging (if consentual) not. HONESTLY ASKING

People always want to cancel James Charles but nothing sticks. Maybe because he isn't actuall doing anything wrong? Just a thought.

You truly see nothing wrong with a famous 21 year old sexting a 14 year old?? :awkney:

No, let's figure this out.

While I clearly don't approve any kind of predatory behaviour (and I really shouldn't state the obvious but some people here are really stupid to get it) let's imagine the minor was 17 and James was 18 and they were engaging on a full romantic relationship (with sex and everything) . Would you have said that this was still twisted and sick?

But.... 18 and 17 is different than almost 22 and 14/15/16..... like even with the 16 year old (who could be a sophomore in high school :toofunny:) is being preyed upon by someone who is a senior is college/graduated.

I really don't get your point. If this age gap is small (let's say 18/17 or something like that), then that's not wrong. In 90% of cases that isn't even illegal. But that's not the case here so???

Also, it's not clear that you disapprove of any of this. I woke up to you "LMAO" reacting to several of my extremely serious posts. Not only is that against forum rules, but that's just really sh*tty behavior. So thanks for that.

I know that the woke culture expects everyone to believe the victims but I find it kind of suspicious that as someone who takes the internet so seriously and has been cancelled numorous times, would ask minors for nudes so carelessly on snapchat if in fact they didn't lie about their age.

especially on his famous account, not even a private or fake or anything like that.

Even tho the law doesn't care if the minor lied about their age, I see where you all are coming from with the lying angle. Here are my thoughts:

1. We don't know if they lied or not. The fact is that there is no record of this part of these conversations bc they happened on Snapchat, an already sketchy app for that reason alone. Right now, it's James' word against there's on this issue.

2. Some of the minors, particular the 1st 14 year old to come forward, are public figures themselves. The 14 year old had nearly 400k followers on TikTok when James added him via his TikTok bio, and his age was public knowledge.

3. What I think I find most likely is that James didn't ask about their ages. Which is gross bc none of these kids even look 18? Like, if they wen't into a drug store and asked to buy cigs, they'd all be ID'd.

4. No matter what the timeline is, James sent and solicited nudes from these minors. He is the adult and the buck stops with him.

SERIOUS QUESTION:

If you worked at a gas station and any of these kids walked in to buy a pack of cigarettes/liquor/weed, would you ID them knowing that your job depends on not selling products illegally to minors, or would you take their word for it?

If yes, why do you give a pass to James when in fact sending/soliciting naked pictures to a minor is much more serious?

You all have made the excuse, "maybe James didn't know their real age." Would you use that same excuse for someone caught selling liquor to a minor?

I didn't read it. Did he sext, like really. Also, did he really do it like the countless times he was accused before.

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

imagine living in a world where now you have to ask for someone's ID to have a conversation, flirt, or have sex, cause you just can't trust that they'll tell you their real age

I've talked about this before here, and people were trying to put me as a victim of "statutory rap3" cause when I was 15 iI had sex with men on their 20s/30s, because I wanted to. but you know how people are on internet, they'll do anything to make them sound like they are right, and are the best, and know everything and no opinion is greater than their own, just so they can feel a little better about their own ridiculous selves, since they have no real accomplishments in their lifes.

Just because the age gap is smaller it doesn't make it different tho.

From a legal point of view a 17 yo with a 18 yo and 22 yo with a 15 yo it's the same, one is a minor one is an "adult". The key work here is CONSENT. Here you have a 15 yo boy who clearly engaged in a sexual conversation with a 22 yo. Is it different than what I described before?

That has literally always been the case in the United States of America for literally every single individual, regardless of fame or wealth, when it comes to having sexual relationships with minors :awkney:

Just like if you work at a liquor store, you are liable if you sell liquor or cigarettes to a minor. You can't just take their word for it.

It is generally legal in most states for an 18 year old to have sexual contact with a 17 year old. In most states if the age difference is less than 12 months it's perfectly legal.

https://www.avvo.com/legal-answers/is-it-illegal-to-date-a-minor---if-your-18---1169132.html#:~:text=It is illegal to have,1 year (365 days).

Less than a year difference is much different than a 6 year age gap, especially when the victim is 14 or 15 or 16 what...

I can see this whole thing triggered you for some reason and I’m sorry for that but please stop tagging me. We live in 21st century, they said he persuaded them over DMs, until I see him knowingly asking them for nudes/sex even tho he knew they are minors you will not change my mind. Take care and good luck.

You're missing the point.

As long as there's no actual illegal crime, there's nothing wrong with this. We are not questioning if the boy was consensual in this sexual conversation with james, but we're questioning his age.

He WAS consensual, no one forced him to send him nudes, unless you can prove it to me ofc

I've been to the US in December 2019, had sex there more than once and with different
no one asked my id, i could be a minor and they wouldn't have known
you're (still) delusional

but anyway, just call me a "sexual deviant" like before so you can keep up with your narrative

Except a crime was committed in the state of CA it's illegal to send nudes to a minor regardless of whether you knew their real age, and it's even more illegal if you solicit child ****..... again, ALL regardless of whether the minor told them their real age our not folks!
