"The Secretary was having a broad conversation about a variety of ways to fund transportation," Ben Halle, a spokesperson for the Department of Transportation, told Insider's Adam Wren. "To be clear, he never said that VMT was under consideration by the White House as part of this infrastructure plan— and it is not."

Far left libs overreacting and fake outraging as usual. The propaganda is strong with that crowd. :billie:

I do agree with the OP in that it was foolish of Pete to provide this type of sound bite.

Mayor Peter nailing that own goal by putting taxation on lower earners who can't afford to live close to work. Rural inhabitants need work too, Pete!

Thank you, wtf.

I stan Pete but this is the stupidest thing I've ever heard :lmao:

There's tolls for this very reason :smh:

Interstates don't have tolls. Those are the only roads that the federal government would have any authority over placing a mileage tax. The only tolls they have are for express lanes. Right now we get taxed in every gallon of gas. It actually might be cheaper for us in the long run.

People at like their local road to Walmart will be taxed.
