The theme does as it's about her pain

Controversial opinion... I wish we NEVER heard I Wanna Be With U.

Everyone discredits Dope because they heard IWBWU first and connected with it. Everyone gets angry because she scrapped a song written directly about her fans. But at the end of the day I truly believe Dope is a better song. It's so deep and expressive and I've never heard her pain come through so clearly before. It's a really important song to a lot of people with a message that can help them feel understood. When I first listened to it I cried because I didn't know Gaga had experienced so much pain with her addictions. The lyrics are actually beautiful.

I think if we never heard IWBWU in the first place, Dope would be a top fan favourite. But y'all are so butthurt that she scrapped the song about you, and replaced it with lyrics about her intense life struggles, that you refused to even listen properly in the first place and give it a chance.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

P.S.

The lyrics:

Toast one last puff, and two last regrets, three spirits, and 12 lonely steps (drug addiction 12 steps) up heavens stairway to gold, I'll mine myself like coal; a mountain of this soul

Are far superior to:

I'll write hit songs about you, no matter what we'll get through, I'll keep on singing for a living but I wanna be in love, and I wanna be with you

And ...

I know I've f.ucked up again, 'cause I've lost my only friend, god forgive my sins. Don't leave me I... I would hate myself until I die > everything

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

One of her best songs.

I don't understand how people say they don't like its placement on the album. The fact that Dope starts just after MJH is amazing. MJH is the moment she gives in to the drugs, she's feeling ecstatic and almost feels as if she's happy again because of the drugs. Then there's the aftermath, when everything stops and she has to deal with the consequences of her addiction. All the fake happiness is gone, it's just her on her own with the piano. She's begging people in her life to stay and not give up on her despite her addictions. So Gypsy is a relief, finally she knows people are here for her.

Thisssssss

Dope after MJH is way better than Applause after Gypsy

This was the day that Troy decided to pack up and leave Gaga

Ikr.  So tragic.  And the timing of Troy's leaving really hurt the ARTPOP era.

It definitely does. If ARTPOP was a movie, Dope would be the plot twist. It's about the **** hitting the fan and the production was conscious choice. She couldn't keep on partying and performing endlessly anymore, she had to confess to herself that she has a problem. Try listening to the album from start to finish and listen closely because every sound was put there for a reason, to tell a story.

Admittedly I wasn't too fond of Dope at first listen :enigma: but I quickly began to love it as much as I did other songs, it truly is a gorgeous song :vegas:
