Gorehound 4,667
Strange because I went through pretty much the exact same struggle with weed as she did and around the same time to so I can definitely relate to this song. (Even though I still think it's a terrible song lol). I'm fine, Ta

Fresco 1,688
I'm happy that she made this song because it is so relatable. Lots of people have an addiction and a song like this can speak to people, empathize with them. She didn't sing it at the Artrave that I went to because she wanted it to be a rave. But even then a fan threw a flanel shirt on the stage and requested it, nope, it's a rave. It would have dampened the mood for sure.
The Child 18,997
I hate this song. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

Like she changed the song because her label liked it and she was afraid that they would make Adele out of her with more ballads? So she made it sound different and wanted it to be more creepy authentic, so she still has control over her artistry i remember reading it somewhere it's sort of like, my past is an unfinished painting.. Stephen 30,423
I’m glad you saw the light! Dope is one of her best songs of all time. I honestly fear we may never get another song from her that is as honest, raw and deeply vulnerable.
Ronk 14,762
I love I Wanna Be With You and was upset when she switched to the song Dope. But now I love both songs. This performance made me so sad because of the terrible circumstances she was going through at that time: I live outside the space time continuum. gumzy3000 7,296
Its one of her best songs in my opinion. She is raw and honest - her vocals are just so powerful in this track. trolly troll troll
Oriane 20,937
One of her best songs. I don't understand how people say they don't like its placement on the album. The fact that Dope starts just after MJH is amazing. MJH is the moment she gives in to the drugs, she's feeling ecstatic and almost feels as if she's happy again because of the drugs. Then there's the aftermath, when everything stops and she has to deal with the consequences of her addiction. All the fake happiness is gone, it's just her on her own with the piano. She's begging people in her life to stay and not give up on her despite her addictions. So Gypsy is a relief, finally she knows people are here for her. (like selling them to another person, getting money from streaming, giving permission for a sample, etc.) And being an executive producer about deciding what you want on your record? If I'm correct, Kesha also doesn't own anything, but she still had 100% control over Rainbow and High Road as an executive producer an artist’s masters are the recordings (including songs, music videos, pictures, etc) so, for instance, taylor owns the copyright to her songs, because she wrote them. if you wanted to use a part of Love Story in your own song, it would be up to her. but if you wanted to use the original recording specifically for something, that would be up to scooter. so, though gaga owns the rights to her songs, as does kesha, they don’t own the actual recordings. they can’t sell those specific recordings without their label’s permission, because they don’t own them. how much creative control they have is up to their labels, really
