hELXIG 41,814
I'm seriously ashamed to have not really watched any LGBTQ movies... Even my mum watched Love, Simon on the plane when we went on a family holiday I just hate how they seem to often rely on awful stereotpyes, or they torture the characters and give them an awful ending and it gets depressive to watch. I'm not here to roll my eyes at the fact everyone thinks all gays are the same, or to have my trauma triggered But... I did watch Happiest Season at the movies last year and I loved it! It felt like a glimpse into real life as a gay person, and (spoiler alert) it actually had a nice ending. Also it had some very funny moments which balanced out the more serious tones nicely so it didn't feel overly heavy. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. It broke my heart for the protagonist and wife. I disliked the guy he protagonist goes to the city for. Lovely movie with a sad ending. Very complex in the fact that it talks about homosexuality in an Orthodox Jewish society. In my view Eyes Wide Open is so well shot It has indeed quite a sad ending (just like most of LGBT movies)
