bionic 50,111
The European Union medicines regulator has reiterated there is "no indication" that the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid jab causes blood clots, after several countries paused their rollouts. European Medicines Agency (EMA) head Emer Cooke said she remained "firmly convinced" that the benefits of the vaccine outweighed any risks. An investigation into cases of clots in a handful of recipients is ongoing. The World Health Organization has urged countries not to halt vaccinations. AstraZeneca says a review of 17 million people who received doses in Europe found there were 37 cases of people who had developed blood clots. The EMA says the number of blood clots reported in vaccinated people is no higher than that seen in the general population. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-56411561

Better Day 5,766
I am a wee bit apprehensive about the Oxford vaccine. I have had many family members get/die blood clots in their life. Together You And I!
Obobo 4,018
What do you mean fake news? A lot of the AstraZeneca scare was from mainstream media. I don’t know why a vaccine is so polarizing. It’s literally health, its okay to be sceptical of anything you put in your body...especially when the healthcare industry itself said it would take 5-10 years to test for long term side effects... There’s a difference between an anti-vaxxer being scared of fake news vs a concerned person who is just worried of long-term side effects, etc.
xoxo Craig 55,649
I wouldn’t want to get the Oxford vaccine anyways because of different reasons, not because it causes or doesn't cause blood clots. I'd rather get the Pfizer vaccine End Racism Now

There’s a difference between an anti-vaxxer being scared of fake news vs a concerned person who is just worried of long-term side effects, etc. We are going through a misinformation campaign purposely targeting this one specific vaccine. Why they chose blood clotting as the symptom I don't know. As you can see above, out of the 17,000,000 who have received the vaccine, 37 reported blood clotting. The EU medical regulator AND the WHO health board have said there is no link, yet the fake news continues. Is it a business move by compettitors? Is it a political move to justify slow vaccine rollouts? Only time will tell

homomo 23,883
This is the easiest way to know it’s safe: The EMA says the number of blood clots reported in vaccinated people is no higher than that seen in the general population. "We know that many thousands of people develop blood clots in the EU so what we want is to establish whether these events are caused by the vaccine or by other causes," Ms Cooke said. 0110100001100101011011000110110001101111
