Maybe people are tired of watching millionaires wining awards? The whole thing is elitist and stupid imo

This is misleading. A lot of people don't watch live broadcasts anymore on TV. If you go to YouTube, ALL of the top trending videos are from the Grammys, each with millions of views. Those are monetized and have commercials and worth nearly as much as the live TV ratings.

Also, Live+3 and Live+7 are DVR metrics that haven't been considered yet (and didn't exist in 2008 either).

yeah but even back when Grammy's were getting good ratings there would be YouTube videos with millions of views so they are def losing money.

all award shows be losing viewership

people are just gonna look for what they are interested in on the internet afterwards... no need to sit through the whole thing!

Yes but you don't lost THAT much organically. No shows do. Obviously it's because of something else. Either a boycott or the pandemic. It was bound to decrease in ratings but not this much. Award shows lose 2-4 million each year, not a billion views in the span of 12 months.

Yeah but hardly anyone has cable or is willing to pay for it or some stupid subscription service to watch one show

Nielson did not count my viewing. I watched a local cbs channel broadcast over hdtv  airwaves. There is no box on my tv to count my viewing.

I don't know if you're joking or not, but if you're not, this is not how it works. They don't need a box in every house to know how many people watched a TV show, just like polling organizations don't need to ask every person in the country who they'll vote for to know how many votes each candidate will receive.

i don’t think we should measure award shows by ratings anymore tbh

most of the information is on other forms of social media, mainly twitter

I watched it and actually liked it. It was cool seeing Harry watch Billie play a song.

That said, and I could be wrong, but I wonder if not having the red carpet hurt ratings. It's not my bag, but tons of people watch these shows just for the fashion.

The correlation between views and Gaga is always there, it's funny at this point. Gaga brings attentions and views and those are facts. :vegas:

Even after all these years, people are still looking forward to see what she will wear next, or what she'll do in her next performance. A tricon. :vegas:

I watched some, saw a few stars and a lotta wannabes. I like the fashion, the staging, but where’s the music? I’m awaiting the arrival of the next undeniably talented musician/performer Superstar, who will sellout venues & stadiums for decades to come; not here yet, I guess.
