Will House of Gucci smash commercially?

Will House of Gucci smash? If Covid-19 wasn't a factor I'd say it would've at least grossed $200 million worldwide, given how amazing the cast is. I mean, Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons? Literally every single person named here is an Oscar nominee/winner.

It's slated to be released on November 24, 2021, I hope the vaccination programmes across the world make it possible for people visit theatres, but I don't think it would've made an impact as huge as how it would've without Covid-19.

The commercial performance of the movie plays quite a huge role in generating Oscar buzz, I know movies are not about awards, but hey, nobody here can tell me they don't feel a thing when Gaga holds a Best Actress trophy in her hand. :gayhat:

Do u see yourself watching the movie in theatres?

I dont think it will tbh, It may do well but I dont think its gonna be a huge hit. I may be wrong though. I think what could do extremely well is The Little Shop Of Horrors remake.

I mean Oscar movies can generate up to $200 million as well. Bradley's Oscar-nominated performances grossed a ton.

American Sniper (which was R-rated) grossed $500 million, Silver Linings Playbook grossed $200 million, and American Hustle grossed $250 million. I know these were pre-Covid films, but I think they can still make it big if they promote it a lot. The genre shouldn't stop it from becoming big.

If movie theatres will be open worldwide again in November (hopefully), I'm sure it will be a bombastic success, because people then want to go out and do stuff again for sure... including going to a movie theatre and literally watch anything. :selena:

It also depends a bit on the trailer and the direction they go in with the movie, but the cast is a win already! So I'm very hopeful it will be successful.

It really depends on covid, otherwise it might be sent to streaming and we'll never really know

Lets go back to replies for this very same question when ASIB was being filmed.

Massive success. I think she will rival her success in ASIB but actually take home more trophies for her role.

It really depends on the execution of the movie itself. It's certainly not a guaranteed hit like a Marvel film. But if it lives up to the Scott pedigree? It could do very, very well. That's what's a bit scary. So much will be riding on Gaga's reviews. But she'll pull through. I can feel it.

Hmm, I would love to be as optimistic as that but ASIB had music to promote the movie, and had the movie to promote the music. Gaga also appeared on a lot of events like festivals which I'm not sure are possible in around October.

tbh it’s exactly the type of film that does well recently. there was a series on the murder of gianni versace, and that did rly well. people love a crime film and love seeing famous people portrayed on screen
