Swifties dox and harass writer Carrie Courogen

This is ridiculous and a much bigger problem than the swifties. I've been a monster since 2009 and I've seen this shitty behaviour from us, arianators, katycats, the Behive and the barbs. This is not a swiftie issue, it's a stan issue, and I can't remember Gaga told us to be nicer to her competitors at the time (like Katy when she mentioned the mechanical horse). She made it worse.

well, those sexist, misogynistic “jokes” made an extensive period of tay’s life, especially her mental health, absolute hell. she was globally harassed and hated. 2021 is a post-woke era in which a female writer that takes themselves seriously and has artistic/political merit to their work can no longer allow such “jokes.” i do not feel sorry for them. one would say, they’re “playing the victim.” take some responsibility instead—taylor did and was proven right, time and time again. :flower:

She is not writer of this Netflix show. What should she take responsibility for?

well, that’s even worse: inserting themselves into a situation, speaking from a female position against a female. a reverse advocacy expedition. what a joke, the irony, i— :rip:

They're playing the victim by pointing out that a celebrities obsessed fans doxed them and are harassing them on multiple platforms? Interesting.

was taylor playing the victim by pointing out that a celebrity-obsessed (sexist, and misogynistic) world doxed her (posted her addresses, broken into her houses etc.) and were harassing her on multiple (online) platforms (and in physico-reality?) didn’t think so. :flower:

She only told her to do something with her annoying, toxic fans who are much worse than this joke.

Idg how this is 'such a bad look for Taylor' but other artists shouldn't be held accountable for their stans

she explicitly referred to the line as “a stupid joke,” implying that she took it too seriously. well, when a joke ruins an extensive period of time in one’s life, gets the person constantly dragged and harassed online, in the media, and in reality, and invalidates their artistic merits, taking a joke/a line lightly, which now, in all probability, functions as a ptsd trigger in tay’s identity, is not all that simple, i’d argue. tay is speaking out and asserting female agency—that’s what bothers people, which, obviously, within a western patriarchal structure, operates unconsciously and, therefore, remains unacknowledged; instead, it is skewed and framed as “playing the victim.” she’s way too familiar with that narrative, as it was imposed on her for the longest time, and she’s at a point in her career where she can explicitly say: **** you, that’s just wrong. kudos to her.

Those stans are classless. Being constructive or a lil shady on the internet is one thing, but this is vile, I hope they feel awful and I hope Taylor adresses this.
