You know that society and system is worldwide, it's not about your neighborhood, right?

The fact that you need to live in a right place to not be killed is a form of opression itself

Okay well then the world is sh*t and we are all oppressed except cis white straight men, there solved :huntyga:

The real tea is: Taylor has gone through numerous relationships, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. Simply bringing up this fact should not be seen as problematic, as long as nobody is judging Taylor. (Should Wikipedia edit her bio to remove references to her dating life since it’s immoral to discuss?)

To me, Ginny’s comment seems more observational, not judgmental. I’d compare it to a comment like: “You’ve set up more businesses than Bethenny Frankel.” Heck, I’d even compare it to “You have more spots than a Dalmatian.” These comments are not judgmental; rather, they’re identifying what a person is known for.

The fact that we must protect women from these nonjudgmental comments about their dating life is in and of itself misogynistic. I hate to say this, but I think Taylor is in the wrong here. Nobody was making fun of her. If you think that the comment was insensitive, then I’m sorry but you are the one making the assumption that dating many men = bad.

i see full of misogynistic gays over the comments, y'all sucks. On the other hand this show is like a Gilmore Girl's wannabe? so lame

Being gay and machist is the worst, please educate y'all.

One thing I have been diligent about is looking for reactions.

They're polarizing. They're not correct (sometimes). They're distracting.

This was one I was looking for, and it added onto my reasoning. This trend needs to be pushed towards production, not pure reaction.

I'm not getting any sleep tonight because I woke up to a beautiful life. I'm awake.

She’s real quick to say “Happy Women’s History month” but didn’t say anything in regards to black history month....

I'm sorry Taylor but where was the lie? Are we going to pretend you DIDN'T get boyfriends and breakup with them only to fuel your next new albums? :awkney:

I'm Team Taylor on this one. I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as the fans make it out to be, but her songs haven't been centered on her exs for at least 5-6 years at this point and go through men absolutely implies she sleeps around (& there's nothing wrong with sleeping around if that is what she was doing (we don't know), but we know how society perceives that). If the show had said something like "fall in love" it wouldn't come off quite as sl*t shamey.

See, I understand your point (there's nothing wrong with dating a lot) but I just watched the entire show and I absolutely read it as her implying her mom was a sl*t. She definitely criticizes her mom for "always having a new man", too, and freaks out when she sees her simply having lunch with the mayor dude.

Honestly, Ginny was an annoying character who had some identity issues...snubbing the friendly Black characters and then saying "oh noes, I'm too white for the Black kids." Her mother and the hot coffee shop guy were more interesting.
