Even someone gets %55 and he gets %45 he will. He has all the army under his control. City wise, Istanbul objected when he forcefully declared that he got Istanbul. But, even if he loses the country, he WİLL control all the voting system. It happened before. wait what? he's worse than Putin! I thought the system was that he can only be re-elected twice. what is this mess

I am struggling to understand how Turkey cannot be called a beautiful country because of its past but other countries can? The countries that the Ottoman Empire ruled over had also caused a lot of destruction to native populations and thrived with slavery before the Turks came (Byzantines, Ummayad Caliphate, Persia). Does this automatically disqualify Greece, Arab countries and Iran from being “beautiful” or a “best” country in someone’s eyes? How is this “insulting”? According to your logic, other countries deserve to be beautiful and one of the best countries in the Middle East but Turkey doesn’t, because of its past and current politics. I can name at least half of the countries in the Middle East that do not treat their citizens as they should, do not have democracy, have a bad history or are currently causing disruption in the region. With your logic any woman or LGBT person would be offended by calling any country in the Middle East as “beautiful“. Is there a list of countries in the Middle East that embrace being a beautiful and great country like other pop artists who “embrace their pop identity”. I don’t want to drag this on, but no country “deserves” to be called beautiful or the best, or bad. No matter what. You can't just not quote the part of my post where i actually make my point and then argue about something i never said like you unquoted the part where i praised turkey and then went on about me saying you can't call it beautiful when i never even said that word. It just stung to see it put above the rest of us, and I expressed that, and the other user understood my point. What's more confusing is your last sentence which kind of supports what I'm saying, that it's not fair to put one country above others, especially when talking about countries with a complex power dynamic. 1 hour ago, dit said: I am sorry your nation went through that tbh. For me I am someone who looks at the now, not the past. Though Turkey may be the ancestor of the Ottoman Empire there has been a lot of progress in that nation and to be honest it is truly currently one of best nations in the region as it is the most stable, most "free" and most developed at the moment (other than Israel). They do have to apologize for the Armenian genocide though. If they do that I think it will heal a lot of tension in the Middle East and I hope it starts a new chapter in the Levant and South Caucasus region. That said, it certainly will not be Erdogan that does that. He likes to divide people and create controversy to distract from his failure as a leader in recent years. I think the next leader of Turkey will for sure be a lot more liberal. The people there are getting really tired of Erdogan and I sense his time is up. I'm sure you mean well but my whole point is not putting countries above others which you've doubled down on here, especially choosing the two europeanized/westernized countries in the region; it's just tiring to be constantly told you're inferior, esp considering they're part of the reason your country's development is inhibited. And talking about israel got me banned once so i'm not about to do that again chaeri pls

Someone only gave their opinion about a certain country and you said it is insulting due to that country’s history. It’s an opinion. Whether you praise Turkey or not is none of my business, that is your opinion as well. Again, if you read carefully, no country deserves to be better or worse, so it can’t be insulting to praise it. Again, sorry if hearing someone saying something good about Turkey is insulting to you, I may find it offensive that someone loves Spain so much but I won’t say it’s “insulting”, because nobody is trying to insult anyone here, and nobody has bad intentions, that is all. And talking about israel got me banned once so i'm not about to do that again i truly do not mean any disrespect of course! I know what you mean. perhaps it is because I am coming from a European point of view. That said I totally do not support much of what Turkey or Israel do actually. In fact I am a pretty vocal opponent of a lot of what they currently are doing. Just as I said before, I don't judge nations on their past anymore because almost every country has a truly horrible and disgusting past (some more than others of course). It's just I cannot overlook the fact that truly in the entire region..Israel and Turkey are the only real democracies, are the most free and are the most advanced nations in many ways (obviously with many faults and obviously Erdogan is undoing a lot of Turkey's progress but I digress). I totally know though that the reason why the development of neighboring states is stunted is in part because of these exact two countries. I'm just being analytical instead of sensible I guess. I really didnt want to seem like dismissive or something
