He said this back in 2011, and he was right. (I don't know how to post screenshots so I had to post the whole interview)

That's what makes Gaga unique: her humble attitude towards art and music. She is always ready to learn and evolve.

What a gift it must be for Gaga to have such a close relationship with a legend like Tony.

She has mentioned in interviews how much she learns from Tony.

This is the first I heard that Gaga was accepted at Julliard Music School.  She decided not to go there, but ended up going to Tisch School of the Arts where she was one of only 20 students in the world to receive the honor of early acceptance.

It was nice to see Tony mention Gaga then Diana Krall in the next sentence.  Diana is such an amazing jazz artist, the only jazz singer to have had eight albums debuting at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums and she was named the second Jazz Artist of the Decade (2000–09).   While Gaga had sung jazz occasionally for years, the public didn't notice Gaga's jazz ability until she did a duet with Tony.  Tony recognized her skill as a jazz singer back in 2011.  Tony has done so much for Gaga over the years.
