How to respond when someone calls you a f*g

So my brother was fighting with my entire household and he randomly called me a f*g in front of my homophobic family who don't even know about me, but have their suspicions. Anyways...he really pissed me off, not so much because of the word itself, but because he's being a total as**ole and thinks he has some sort of supremacy over me. Lately our relationship has been souring and I really can't see us having much contact after one of us moves out of the house. 

In the meantime, what is a good comeback for someone who calls you a f*g? Not that i'm a mean person, but I want to be able to say something that will shut my brother, or anyone else up when they say that (something that's not a slur or super offensive word obviously). In my brother's case, the meaner the better so bring it on folks.

I sort of laugh at the person, as if they're the butt of a joke. Giggle in a way that makes them feel insecure or worried that they look stupid. Sort of behave in a way that makes them feel like they're being pathetic in front of a cool person. That would mean not showing any anger or annoyance though, which could be hard depending on what he's doing/saying.

You could also video-record him with your phone, saying "I can't wait to play this back for you later, so you can see how pathetic your tantrum looks!" and laugh some more, which would either rile him up more or shut him up and he'll stomp off. However, this risks your brother grabbing your phone from you and/or smashing it, so don't try it if he's physically violent...

Lmaoo if we were young that may have worked but we’re over 20. He’s super money hungry and works 24/7 and is very mean and miserable. He’s not the smartest either. Once he read the name « Beatrice » on a name tag and asked us who the hell would name their child « beat rice » and he was dead serious. We make fun of him for that ally he time but that’s all good harmless stuff. I just want a good comeback that could also work for other people too.
