Is Shallow a studio version?

Every time I watch ASIB I can't help but notice that the "Shallow" they sing in the movie is not the same "Shallow" that was released as a single. I mean, it's the same song, but it sounds like 2 different performances with differences between them.

So, if the songs were recorded live for the movie, does this mean that they recorded a studio version of shallow and added crowd for the single release? or is it another performance that we didn't get to see? because it's definitely not the same version of the song that they sing on the movie

No its the live version from the movie, although I'm certain they did edit some of the vocals for the single/movie. Its the same version as it is in the film

They definitely used slightly different takes or mixes for the movie. I think it needed to be done sooner for the movie than the soundtrack, so they spent more time on the single. There IS a studio version from the trailer though

but it's not... Gaga sings some parts completely different in the movie, and she doesn't sing some parts that are on the official version

the trailer one is definitely different

movie one, the first "im off the deep end" is a little bit delayed while album version is not.

also the Hair Body Face movie version is very weird for me

It is the same:

Its just there are some bigger pauses to show that Ally was nervous in the movie, and in the single version they've edited that out. But the vocals and what she sings is the same in both

Well HBF was a 'tour' version in the movie because she was rehearsing for a tour. When Gaga rehearses for her songs, she mostly doesn't use the offical version but a rough tour version so she can feel the same vibes as touring live

That's what it sounded like to me anyway

It is not, you can tell she is delayed to sing "Im off the deep end" compared to the official version, she also sings "ground" different on that same part. She also doesn't sing some of the "aahs" .

There are deffinitely parts that are the same, but they used more than one take to record the song because one of them is at least a mix of 2 different takes

maybe 👀  the vocal in movie version is like intentionally no emotion and autotuned

im sure they must have done something like

record vocal on the set, but without acting

and then record vocal + acting

and then cut and edit between

I’m pretty sure Bradley part was recorded and edited in the studio... Gaga’s part is from the live session.
