Yes, the door was heavy but no impossible to be opened, especially in an adrenaline rush, which has proven to give a person almost like a superhero strength... people lifting cars and all.

But I do wonder if she was holding the door when she entered the tank and close herself on it by accident, or maybe a "suicide" attempt... or if someone was actually with her and locked her on purpose as many people believe, or even an employee closed after seeing it was open without checking properly inside.

It kinda feels more like a murder rather then a suicidal attempt. It bother me so much that the hotel has cameras throughout the hallways but they only released the one from the elevator  :saladga:

The thing is that hotel has a history of being sketchy, I would be unsurprised if either someone killed her & hid her body, or a maintenance person had removed the lid of the tank and she climbed in, and then employees either knowing her body was in there or not closed it.

There are a lot of suspicious details and I hate that people would so crassly throw this case away as a “mental illness” situation gone wrong. The point is we will never truly know unless someone confesses/whistle blows (wasn’t there like lost security camera footage or one of the cameras was suspiciously turned off?), so to say “she was just mentally ill and definitely killer herself accidentally or on purpose” is a bit cruel, especially when this is hotel is literally famous for being a “murder” hotel.

By the way that hotel have renamed and rebranded themselves now. Not sure if it is still sketchy.

I saw that video but I doubt she killed her self since the rooftop doors had alarm systems that would alert the hotel staff, there will  be Netflix documentary next month and they interviewed some of the staff, I’m so intrigued :enigma:

I think it’s quite simple. She was off her meds, made her way to the roof and climbed in by the ladder that was there. We don’t know if the lid was partially open or off and then someone closed it later without knowing etc. I don’t think it was murder as there is no motive and imagine how difficult it would be to force someone up to the roof, nevermind a ladder to the water tank.

As for the security cameras being off and alarms not working, you’ll be surprised how many cameras and system don’t actually work. Until there is an incendient that requires someone to check them. Regular checks to see if they are functioning are rarely done even if they are suppose to be. Also if someone was after her they most likely would have appeared in the elevator video.

Netflix just released a docummentary series that explains the whole thing. Whether you believe in this explanation or not it's up to you, but it's pretty convincing and it makes a lot of sense. Sadly, the conclusion is she stopped taking her bipolar disorder medicines, so she started having psychotic episodes, that lead to her climbing to the roof and drowning herself.
