This is why I think ppl are extremely unfair towards governments when they criticize them for not doing full lockdowns earlier We've had so many false alarms in the last 10-15 years alone, were not gonna shutdown the entire economy every time a potential threat comes about I'm sure if we all knew how it was gonna turn out many early decisions would have been made differently. It's so easy to look back now and criticize everyone in charge but going back to January and February of 2020 it was so novel and unclear how it was gonna unfold and it happened so quickly I dunno it's just a pet peeve of mine when ppl are unreasonably critical of the government all the time when not justified. My mother and I made fun of them on the way home, thinking they were being so dramatic. I think about that moment now and I cringe so hard, a true visionary I was. My former Country Portugal for example Travel is also a big part of the problem. Not enough countries shut their borders. The ‘United’ Kingdom’ where I’m from our joke is a prime minister saw what was happening in Spain, Italy and still he locked down late. I mean yes, Trump is an obvious target, but would people have suddenly been wearing mask and social distancing if Hillary was President? Look at California...It's overwhelming a democrat state....worst covid cases..same with New York. The bottom line is Americans DO NOT CARE. They think it either won't effect them, it is exaggerated, a hoax, something that happens abroad or they think they will simply get through it. They don't want this bug infringing on their way of life. 100's of other countries sucked up lock downs and restrictions and by and large a lot of us are starting to get through it. I'm in Australia and we had a severe lockdown. Things are somewhat getting back to normality in my state despite new outbreaks..but we played by the rules. Americans don't care. This is waay bigger than one president or whether you are a democrat or a republican. I wish people would see this is something that effects EVERYONE. It's truly global.
