However, if someone says: “I don’t understand why people stream rap music”- it is not about race, as the subject matter is about a genre of music. The issue here is about Intent. No one made this about race until someone tried to change the narrative of the subject. “Oh? You don’t like rap music? You must hate black people.” The intent is switched around to the narrative of choice of the person responding. This makes people walk on eggshells. Someone might dislike rap and bluegrass, but may only feel comfortable saying they don’t like bluegrass( because they are afraid someone is going to reach, or twist what they said to fit their narrative). This, is over censoring. This is also a false narrative. People who don’t like rap, just don’t like rap, but may love Rnb. This website has a history of over censoring due to users who twist or spread false narratives.

I'm in no way saying you have to buy physical copies, vinyls, signed editions, any of that stuff, just choose one way. Whether it's a physical copy or download, why aren't people purchasing their faves albums anymore? My question is, are the majority of their streamers devoted fans or are they just casual listeners of their singles who don't think their albums as a whole are worth buying? i get what you mean, but most of my friends are die hard fans of some artists, but they see saving the album to their library on spotify as an equivalent to purchasing. To them, enjoying music is the best way for them to express their love for the artist's music, and they see purchasing it, be that through itunes, amazon, cd, vinyl, etc. as a waste of their money. They may even buy merch in the form of posters, tshirts, sweaters, etc. but won't actually buy the album, because to them they already own it through their streaming service. I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.
Better Day 5,766
@StrawberryBlond I am talking about downloads as well, most people have the idea why should they buy an album when they are already paying for streaming. JINNOCIDE 3,826
This thread is a mess. skkskskskskss The perfect example of gays going "yeah, black lives matter!" but still ignorantly making racist comments and when they get called out the "WHAT??? LMAO THATS NOT RACIST" narrative jumps out. Like, the fvck. STAN RINA SAWAYAMA

You really think so? Gays constantly discrediting trap, R&B, hip hop is definitely coming from something more complex than just not liking the genres. As a matter of fact, I personally don’t enjoy R&B nor listen to a lot of trap for example, but I don’t plaster everywhere how much the genres suck, asking why it’s so popular as if it’s something hard to understand for some reason, saying things like the US chart sucks because urban genres dominate there. I’m not saying people can’t dislike it, it’s the way they express that dislike constantly, the way it’s expressed, that comes off strangely. OP said he wondered why urban music was so popular. Generalizing all urban music ofc, and stating it as if it’s hard to comprehend it could be popular. Tell me how that doesn’t come off weird, please do. Gays in forums sh*tting on urban genres is so exhausting and definitely rooted in something more. Just a thought. I wonder if this disproportionate hate against R&B and Urban and Rap from gays could also in part be due to its disproportionate amount of homophobia in its lyrics and subconsciously see it as an agressor against them Could that be a factor and not just race? I dunno I happen to like these genres but I'm wondering if that may actually be part of it
