If you don't like asian kitchen, nor gypsy music, nor indian books, or why should a black actor play James Bond, or maybe you don't get why urban music is popular, you are racist? Omg. The open minded gays here, please visit a Black African Muslim country with your boyfriend don't forget your iced coffee and let's see what happens. That won't be a cute look too. Do not use this word 'racist' too much and unnecessary cause it's almost lost its meaning, like 'legend' has already This post is racist. If you don’t think James Bond, a fictional character, could be black and are upset about it, you are a racist. Mentioning Black African Muslims as an excuse for you to be racist isn’t a good look either. This post is disgusting. @Yxcvbnm I’m glad you find being a racist hilarious. You really don’t think gays continually discrediting black artists is not a little sus? You really think so? Gays constantly discrediting trap, R&B, hip hop is definitely coming from something more complex than just not liking the genres. As a matter of fact, I personally don’t enjoy R&B nor listen to a lot of trap for example, but I don’t plaster everywhere how much the genres suck, asking why it’s so popular as if it’s something hard to understand for some reason, saying things like the US chart sucks because urban genres dominate there. I’m not saying people can’t dislike it, it’s the way they express that dislike constantly, the way it’s expressed, that comes off strangely. OP said he wondered why urban music was so popular. Generalizing all urban music ofc, and stating it as if it’s hard to comprehend it could be popular. Tell me how that doesn’t come off weird, please do. Gays in forums sh*tting on urban genres is so exhausting and definitely rooted in something more.

Telling this everyone is the same like Pokemon Go was back in the day. Do not overact everything please

Guest
I feel like that guy's not necessarily asking why black music is popular, but rather why rap and hip hop is so popular. He just worded that very poorly, especially given the fact that until recently, all black artists no matter the genre (except for album of the year) were grouped together into 'urban' label at award shows. At least, I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that they weren't intending to be so blatantly racist and just worded something poorly. That said, it comes as no surprise that a community full of popheads don't understand why rap music is so popular. Especially considering top albums and songs listed by members here are pretty much identical to each other and contain the same pop albums with little variation. Not a criticism - we all have our taste in music - but that goes to speak why some don't understand. The majority of people, however, do listen to at least some rap music and Drake is the most popular rapper in our current day. Rap fans probably wonder the same re: pop artists and why they are so popular.

James Bond is mentioned to be white, but being white isn’t important to his character. You tried!

And why tf can't a black actor play James Bond? Give me a break. Former First Lady of the United States. Now card-carrying member of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Black Panther’s character literally revolves around his black African roots, did you think before writing that comment? Did you just think it was clever? And yes they is the disproportionate audience for urban music as opposed to other genres and its okay to question why that is . Yall are really something OT : wish they were more females but oh well , we still live In a world where everyone can listen to male music and it is considered okay but listening to female music is "gay" or "feminine" so i get why this list looks like this.
