What releases / drops were you most excited for, leading up to it?

For me, I was most excited for Born This Way album drop (back when she was literally everywhere with marketing - especially in New York, and the iTunes countdown with a song being released every week leading up to the drop). After that, I was most excited for Chromatica. The build up and anticipation after the album was delayed and we weren't sure when it was going to come really made me so much more excited for it. And then after that, Perfect Illusion.

ARTPOP.

Every track seemed to be so catchy. There was not one track released before the album I didn't like.

It also contrasted with her previous albums in that it had a more colourful tone, both visually and sonically. So it was a refreshing era to me.

Born This Way. That 6 month wait between New Years and the album felt like so far away but we got a lot of stuff during those months, they had an incredible promo schedule. In my head I was always like "There's no way she's going to top The Fame Monster" then getting the lead single, Judas, The Edge of Glory, Hair, all those early reviews then finally listening to it. It was worth the wait.

Can't say the same about ARTPOP and Joanne. Love both albums but the lead singles weren't the best and listening to the albums for the first time, I was disappointed. I learned to not expect her to top Born This Way.

Massive Monster

I remember leading up to Born This Way we had the lyrics before the song and that mini performance of the chorus she did in the meat dress.

We had to imagine how it sounded like.

When we only had the little I used to sing the phrase "Cos' baby we were just Born This Way" the same way as "Baby loves to dance in the dark". Imagining that it would sound similar :kara:

Kind regards

i wasn't really on social media for the born this way era, and i'd finally made a gaga fan page in 2013 lol so ARTPOP was my favorite bc i got to really experience and stay up to date with performances leading up to its release along with other monsters. such a nostalgic era for me

nothing will compare with the hype before ARTPOP for me.

it lined up with a really pivotal/important part of my life and I remember checking this site multiple times every day for updates. The wait between Born This Way and ARTPOP seemed **SO** long, especially because we knew the title of the album so far ahead of its release, but that built the hype up so much more for me.

it was also funny, because at the time, the consensus was that because Marry the Night had "flopped," there was no chance that ARTPOP could "flop" too. I remember reading that comment over and over on these forums, that Born This Way had somehow not lived up to the highs of TF/TFM, and ARTPOP would be a course correction.

PLUS everything with Katy and Gaga in August 13... the chaos of the AP era is unmatched, and I loved it because it fit my life at the time so perfectly – not to mention I really did love the aesthetic. Even though Gagz couldn't do everything she wanted to with the era, everything we did get was phenomenal. I remember waking up at like 5 am to watch the Applause video premiere and being absolutely floored.

Then the iTunes performances – hearing ARTPOP, Sex Dreams, Venus, and Manicure for the first time was insane.

nothing has ever compared since. That album means so much to me, and it's crazy that the wait between BTW and AP felt so long, because the wait between AP and Joanne, and then Joanne and Chromatica, didn't feel nearly as long despite being much longer in reality.

Chromatica for sure, there was so much mystery surrounding the album and when she released the track list I literally counted down the days until release.

I was hyped for Chromatica to be this experimental pop music like BTW 2.0 especially from the visuals ....

Born This Way - I was in high school and I would spend hours on my computer searching for any new pieces of information. Ugh I miss those days.
