Now with the benefit of hindsight, did you ever consider that she was under a contract to make a new album (Chromatica) during 2018-2019? And I don't even remember the last time a recording artist made a record on the road. It is simply financially and logistically more convenient and practical to make music in America, which is basically either NYC or California if u think about it. 2. Coupled with the 'severe pain' that left her hospitalised several times during the Joanne World Tour, does this make more sense to you now? 3. Is it Lady Gaga's responsibility to ensure every individual within her million-ranging fan community with populations in continents all over the world gets a chance to attend her show? Because, this really is not a necessity, but a luxury. 4. If yes, is it realistically feasible? 5. Is it Gaga's responsibility to help you earn money, reduce the financial expenses of your life, ensure you get top-class entertainment including covering things beyond her control like flight and hotel fees? 3 minutes ago, Cookie Woman said: I don't know what you want her to do about that considering she spent a year at her residency (2019) and the entire world shut down this past year (2020). It's completely irrational to hold that against her. You do make points and I must admit I got carried away. But my opinion hasn’t changed and this is coming from the fan that defends every single thing she does. Enigma is a horrible idea in my opinion and the fact that suddenly people are defending it and praising it says enough. Same is happening with the Joanne era. I've been defending it from the beginning. It's not some past-era witchcraft. You're just mad that you couldn't go and you're blaming her and everyone else. I’m not mad I couldn’t go (nice assumption because I could have gone for all you know), I’m ‘mad’ at it being done at a horrible timing and its ‘promotion’. Nowhere did I blame her personally. I am an international fan too, and obviously I would hope to spend less in seeing her than spending more. I understand not everyone is financially as capable as me in purchasing luxury goods like this. But there are also a lot of arguments on Gaga's side that justified her doing a residency in Vegas. It allowed her to move back and forth between LA and Vegas, and thus giving her the time and convenience to complete her album. She also admitted to suffering from severe depression and psychotic episodes at times. 911 and Replay and Fun Tonight are products of them. But this was not a show to promote an album you see. She had intended to embark on a tour for Chromatica, which I know is only six dates, but there were rumours that it would get extended. Who knows if coronavirus didn't happen that she wouldn't visit more cities?

brucee 1,690
"the simuleytion" made me laugh hard, the hair is iconic it's it's own way, so my favourite thing about Enigma is the element of fun, first and foremost, but the cover of Bowie got me shooketh. I think it's a very cool show, and that as much as the story line feels like MB, it's also radically different (the second layer of : what if I stay the same, the past future and present), and that is something very Gaga. I'm pretty sure anybody who attended the show cannot dislike it. It's pure Gaga.... And she was super generous and brave too (when she calls out the crowd to insult her). When Celine Dion made the choreo... Bradley's duet... Idk... I really really miss Gaga's show so much. And for me, it's where she will always shine... My only negative point if I may..... Please Lady don't ever cut Dance in the Dark again. I'm Ok if you don't wanna sing it but no bridge is like sex with no orgasm..... hello hello baby. I would hate earning $53 million and critical acclaim too. it's great that she's getting her coins from this but that show is a mess after the first act If you have some rad remixes you made laying around, send it to me!! TEANUS 12,833
I think people who are negative towards Enigma wanted something a little deeper. Following the Halftime Show, Coachella, years of tributes and covers, and the JWT (her first tour to not include the entirety of the album that it’s promoting at least once throughout the tour), fans were thinking/ hoping that Enigma would be an all out Gaga extravaganza! I (personally) thought and hoped that we would see a lot of homages to her past eras, show- and boundary-pushing technology, and authentic theatre. Which, it is an extravaganza, with a robot, Gaga travels in the air multiple times, some deep cuts, crazy, Gagafied looks, etc., although it still doesn’t go balls to the wall like the BTWB, or hell, even the artRave. The story isn’t nearly as rich, fulfilled, or meaningful, sometimes seeming like the storyline aspect was added layers. Gaga and the show feels like I theyre out of sync or has exhausted her positive energy towards pop tours with her history of postponements and cancellations due to her hip and fibromyalgia. Bolkins 4,082
I went to one of the first shows towards the end of January 2019. I had a great time, I really loved the set and the projections (seeing IRL was quite trippy and immersive which didn’t translate in pictures and videos) and her vocals were on point at the show I went to. I think the only downside really was the storyline, it didn’t serve a purpose except draw focus away from what was ultimately a really good show. It should of just been interludes and songs like how her shows have been since ARTRAVE and I think it wouldn’t have such a bad rep. I know people have issue with some of the costumes but it’s ultimately the storyline that is distracting not what she’s wearing. Not the bore worms! Pop Music 20,522
Wish I could see Enigma! (hopefully TCB goes through bc I have nice seats for that tour) I remember watching the opening night periscope streams and typing in the thread on here all using bad internet as I was visiting relatives, I was so excited and was on a Little Monster excitement buzz when DITD started showing up in the thread I thought it was a joke but a couple seconds later the livestream buffered and she was singing DITD and I nearly screamed loud enough for my stepdad to wonder what happened to me Gaga 💝Taylor 💝Carly Rae 💝Rina 💝MARINA 💝Britney💝Lights 💝Shania 💝Sigrid💝
Suspiria 10,683
Enigma was definitely going in the right direction, and on paper it sounds like every fan's dream. A Gaga sci-fi piece of pop theatre, with a campy storyline, lots of deep cuts, teal wigs, multiple costume changes, props, CGI etc. But it's clear that Gaga was too busy with ASIB to put any effort into this, and the resulting show is pretty much as bad as a show with all the things mentioned above could be. It's a Gaga show - the vocals and stage presence will always be top tier, and seeing your fave in person will always be an incredible experience. But the key problem with the show was that it just offered nothing new in terms of songs or musical arrangements. The small bits of new choreo that were there were awkward (the JD cartwheel that failed almost every time). Without anything new musically, fans focus on everything else. The styling was truly abysmal. The stage design was very simple and uninteresting. The robot was an extremely basic and poorly designed prop, and the petga thing looked so cheap and badly animated. The storyline was just embarrassing and seems like it was made up on the spot. It's a pop concert, I'm not expecting a marvel of storytelling. But surely a team of professionals could come up with something doesn't sound like it was written by a potty mouthed 7 year old. The whole thing just comes across as a first draft. Like they still need to finish the script, add detail to the set, make the outfits, finish the musical arrangements. After the first show I was hoping this was the case, and that they'd add all the improvements over time. But it became very clear that Gaga just didn't care and was happy to settle for mediocrity. Even Gaga herself wasn't at her peak and it very much seems like she didn't rehearse for it (which I think was the case due to ASIB promo). I can only hope that now Chromatica is out, she will put this mess behind her and come up with a new Vegas show
