Does Gaga have a New York accent?

Sometimes I feel like she has one and then other times I feel like she doesn’t. It’s definitely not a stereotypical one that’s really strong from the Bronx like J Lo’s or Nicki’s but I guess more of a wealthy Manhattan one?

Not really. Lana has sometimes more of a New York accent and she isn’t even from New York

-You could kind of hear it in certain scenes in ASIB

-Also, the way she says “WUAHLK WUAHLK fashion baby” in the Bad Romance demo is another example of her New York accent popping up.

-I could hear it a little bit in Paper Gangsta, too.

It’s not too noticeable, but it’s like 10% or 5% there.

Honestly it’s more that she has a Manhattan accent. Plus, I think when you get classically trained vocally it has a tendency to impact your speaking voice as well. You start articulating yourself differently since you notice the hard difference between “slack” enunciation and “proper” (obviously this is by the standards of classical vocal technique and not at all a dig at slang or common speech patterns).

Not the 2009 Paparazzi accent... and the 2012 FAME accent... lord LOL

From somebody from the West Coast, I don't know if I pick up anything too distinct. Sometimes, maybe? As @Sneaky Oliver mentioned, I also noticed her she spoke with a deeper tone from like 2016-2018. It doesn't feel unnatural, per se- more, like, it's comfortable and yet she doesn't speak like it too much.

I think she’s mixed actually. I mean, after all her singing, acting, probably also some phono audiology experiences and her life in California made her get something more on her way to speak.
Form me she’s one of the best well spoken artists out there tho, I’m not fluent in English but when I listen to her speaking I can understand everything she’s talking.

it’s mostly nonexistent (like everyone else said, probably a result of her vocal & theatrical training) but I can hear it whenever she says longer vowels, that nasal quality of the accent shows through a little more. it’s also possibly because every moment we see of Gaga in interviews is very much her in a different mode than what she likely talks like off camera, she’s always very thoughtful about her words and that means her diction is a lot tighter than your average new yorker’s would be

It's subtle, but it's there. She's learned to suppress it over the years, and it's certainly changed with all the traveling. You hear it mostly in some of her earliest interviews from 2008. It's also all over the bridge in the "Bad Romance" demo.
