But it’s still her name and it’s verified so it’s really weird for me, if someone is not aware of her death they might believe she’s alive because she’s active on Instagram

Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse both have verified Instagram accounts with their names. And the bio of Aaliyah says “Honoring her beautiful life and legacy”

Aaliyah is a brand as well as a person, so they HAVE to have a verified account to avoid scam accounts using the name to scame people.

Having the verified account strengthens any potential lawsuit involving that brand if a scammer gets someone to give money or something of the sort

Aaliyah is a brand now, just like Amy, MJ, Whitney, Elvis, etc. It’s like a way of keeping their music alive. I don’t think it’s weird at all if they’re just promoting the music or their legacy, it’s not like they’re using their social media to pretend to be her lol.
