That is weird isn't it, how everyone seems to always say how young people these days are much smarter, but then report like this countered it by saying how modern people have shorter and short attention span. :bradley:

We can be smarter- as in, better critical thinkers- while simultaneously having shorter attention spams, right? Or are they intertwined somehow? Cause you know there’s people that are “smart” as in, they can memorize random facts, vs people who may not have the best memories but can think more critically. Idk lol

I guess this can be a good thing for the overly exposed overly annoying songs you hear a billion times on the radio, weddings, parties, etc.

It's likely. Trends are cyclical. You know, in the 50s-60s for example and before, songs were generally about 2 minutes long.

Thank you cause I try to write 3 minute songs and they dont sound better than my 2 min songs. I sometimes feel pressured to write longer songs but I dont like how they play out. Maybe I should keep practicing but 2 minute songs/raps are my forte.

I envy you, I'm the total opposite. I try to be brief but my songs always end up being 4-6 min

Nnnnn I am one of those. I actually listen for 5 or 6 seconds then I skip if I'm not hook.

But that's only to new artists I'm trying to get into.

I have been practicing for some time I think my rapping helps with sylable counts. I try to tell a story using the least amout of words. I try to add vocabulary words that are common. My accent makes it hard to fully get out the sound I want so it takes a lot of trial and error.

Sucks for me. I love long epic progressive songs, the longer the better. But I do love Sour Candy, but always lament if only it would be longer.lol. I guess Gaga was ahead of the game again.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

it's odd how most people seem to skip songs a lot but it's interesting I guess. Though I've always been the kind of person who likes longer songs that have a nice progression between verses and choruses which is part of the reason why I listen to so much stuff from the 80s and 90s. I like each song to feel like a little journey :staymad:

Imagine the album length... 15 minutes :billie:

My Agenda by Dorian Electra might as well have been this long with the 1 minute songs :bradley:

It really depends on the song tbh. Some songs that are 5/6 minutes can be very tedious and boring - Frozen, God Control, Hair whereas some songs can be too short - Babylon, Stupid Love. Artists should go with their vision

not you naming three excellent songs and calling them tedious and boring,...... girl anyways so
