New Covid-19 mutation detected in Malaysia

Anyone who passed high school biology should know this is how viruses operate; they mutate as if their lives depend on it (because it does). There is no need to throw the world into a frenzy, which the media loves to do. That said this is still something to keep an eye on over the next few months. But the world's top scientists (not journalists) will once again work their fantastic magic unpacking this new mutation and then relay that information to companies making vaccines. The world is hardly going to end.

Won’t stop till a vaccine is found. But then again the vaccine may need to be taken twice a year at some point which is a logistic and manufacturing nightmare. And till then? Will it keep mutating to the point it gets really dangerous ?

As long as it doesn’t affect the effectiveness of the vaccines, I am not worried.

Seasonal flus are super mutatable, so this isn't exactly a new thing, I agree. The media in 2020 is tiring me so much.

Vaccines + herd immunity will save us in the future. But for now, masks and staying at home.
