What Direction Should Gaga Go With LG7?

I'm still holding out for a double visual album : LADY / GAGA

LADY contains more classic sounding jazz, classic rock, and folk inspired tunes. Songs that hark back to the C2C/Joanne/ASIB eras. Gentle, timeless, easy listening music.

GAGA is an edgy mix of experimental avant-gard industrial dance pop. I'm thinking of sounds similar to what you might find on a SOPHIE, Björk, or Rina Sawayama record. True Art pop.

It seems to me the double album approach would give everyone something to enjoy. I have to imagine that LG7 is several years out, however.  And when it does come out, I wouldn't be surprised to see Gaga chasing Dua Lipa's coat tails with a basic top 40 pop/dance record.

I want her to make an hyperpop album.

Hyperpop as a genre has been gaining notoriety with critics and pop music fans and is usually hailed as the future of pop music. However, so far it has not reached the mainstream. The closest it has gotten is with Charli XCX, who had a string of big hits, but she has failed to get one since she switched to the hyperpop genre. An artist like Gaga could be the one to finally make it go mainstream, she could expose millions of people to a type of music they haven’t heard.

I also would like to see what she could bring artistically, I feel like she could bring the catchy songwriting and VOCALS to a genre which is usually production centered. I feel like she could figure out what the essentials of the genre are and make it palatable to a mainstream audience.

what is hyperpop? please elaborate, user artgod :)

Anything that’s not dance pop honestly. Like some have already said, she worked so hard to change her public image and it would be strange for her to just go back to dance pop with two back to back albums. Unless she manages to put in a side project in between, like C2C 2, then I hope she goes for a more rock or alternative sound with LG7. She’s done a lot of moody dance pop songs.

Sophisticated pop with jazzy/experimental electronics. Aristo-Ga.

Only problem with Chromatica is the question of artistic evolution. If you wanna digest Dance-Gaga it is a bright and successful album. If you ask for more, or if you think Gaga could do much better, then.... I do feel like Chromatica happened because she wanted to increase her streaming numbers with a pure pop album that is easy to digest. Maybe she is slightly annoyed that her best work, Born This Way, is not recognized by critics and absent from decade-end lists while albums like Anti is praised to heavens. Well, there is no need to act offensively. I am reading a lot of positive comments about her future acting projects but to me she is that glam avant-garde pop artist waiting to explore her true potential. Shallow is an eternal hit now but still when is her ultimate artful declaration is going to expressed is the question in my head. And such album would be a futuristic one, sleek, cold, emotional, moving... Both projects, A Star is Born and Chromatica (and of course Joanne), are looking backwards. And I do not see her surrounded by inspiring musicians. Bloodpop just helped Rina to release a bad song, first in her short but effective career. I would rather see Gaga working with someone who knows what Art-Pop is and infusing Roxy Music/Bowie/Kate Bush/Bjork kind of dark aristocracy into Gaga's palette with fresh tones. Don't kill me but 1000 Doves and Plastic Doll are sort of embarrassing for Gaga's artistic vision. They feel like b-sides, not album tracks. I want to see her not worrying about a thing but her musical experiences. I am sure that moment will arrive and she will release another bold piece of work like Born This Way -but this time with more innovation and communication.

I want Aristo-Ga to shut down all the noise of stan twitter gay music criticism or chatstans and do her **** with freedom and bravery.

She is now the only pop star without a universally bulletproof album (Beyonce, Lemonade / Lorde, Melodrama / Rihanna, Anti / Taylor, those two albums etc.)

She needs to act quickly. Drop all the distracting side projects and go to studio with only one producer. And give birth to many wonders.

I want her to go ham TBH, make something that's so incredibly polarising and experimental that half this site hates with a passion. Imagine if she had something as insane as SOPHIE's 'mosquito song' that this site vehemently despises as a full 2-minute long interlude on LG7.
