It’s really hard to live in this country at the moment. For a couple of years now there is an anti LGBTQI rhetoric from the government  but in the last half year they introduced a lot of bullshit nonsense which you might think that cannot happen in a country which is a part of EU. But apparently it can. Hope we can see better days but to be honest I cannot imagine my future here anymore, even though I have my family and friends in Hungary.

I wish it was this simple to just punish the countries that disobey  but then a given country gets to do a veto and the entire thing is on hold and homophobia persists.

Religion is a huge part about why this happened, It's the same sh*t in my country (Romania) whenever something related to LGBTQ+ happens, the church quickly starts acting on it and being extremely bothered about it (they are feeling threatened about it, they say that It's an "attack" to the traditional family) people and especially the old ones, are listening to them because most of them has been brainwashed.

Such a shame. Really adored Hungary when I visited, was not aware it was so regressive politically.
