Franch Toast 27,727
I can't stand Tom Cruise and think Scientology is an evil, harmful cult, but he's not wrong. Maybe he was too aggressive in how he talked to the staff, but I can understand his frustration; people who disregard Covid protocols and put the rest of us at risk are the ones perpetuating this pandemic. I don't like TC but he has every right to behave like this in this particular situation. they should be warned seriously and in a professional manner, not aggressively and violently. See: 7 minutes ago, Borislshere said: What a joke. if you see someone violating the rules, talk to them, warn them. If they don’t follow the rules after that, fire them for being workplace liability. Screaming and throwing a tantrum is not how you handle a workplace issue. yes COVID is an extremely serious situation but you forcing everyone to huddle together to listen to you scream and yell isn’t solving anything. CCSir 410
COVID guidelines are super important, but I don't know, accepting behaviour like this from your boss in any circumstances opens a dangerous door. There is a lack of specificity regarding the ways in which they broke the guidelines as well, it's hard to gauge. Personally, I find this type of interaction with employees to be unacceptable. Sorcerer92 837
If only everyone treated people who broke protocols this way. I get so sick of this "be kind and understanding" crap. Anyone who disobeys covid protocol deserves punishment 😤 Good job Tom

See: I'm imagining this was not his first reaction. In a perfect world we'd all be nice to each other even when we don't agree BUT people have these kinds of reactions when their life is in danger and getting a deadly virus is that. So I understand his reaction. Also I'd love you to see how bosses behave on Balkan because this is literally nice in comparison..

Just screaming at people isn't going to get anything changed.

Even worse because they can be physically abusive as well and there is tons of discriminatory language. The thing is you are allowed to leave. But some people just tolerate it because they want the job or have no other choice. If you try to “fight” it legally or whatever everyone will turn on you and call you a liar, because it’s considered like a right of passage to weather this abuse in a kitchen. my point is there are plenty of workplaces where Tom’s behaviour is normal (though he clearly has issues), at least it’s over something reasonable and not a customer being served the wrong pasta dish. It's not linked to discrimination at all. Workplace harassment definitely is linked to discrimination it only takes a quick Google search to find that out A boss or supervisor yelling at an employee for not following workplace safety protocols is not harassment. It may not be nice but that's a different thing. If they were singling out a specific person then I could see a harassment claim Anyways it seems like he was a little stressed and fed up, which I don't really blame him. I wouldn't want to be on a movie set right now with ppl not following safety rules the meow in zombieboy
