I'm not sure but I think on Wikipedia it counts TF+TFM as 1 album and BTW as her 2nd. Its kinda annoying that Gaga, the fandom, and even Interscope consider TFM the 2nd album. Its an EP yeah but also its own stand alone release.

I mean, that doesn't exactly make much sense now, does it?

C2C and ASIB had their own eras.

Joanne fits much more cleanly into the C2C/ASIB phase than PopGa.

If we're going by the books, TF/TFM should really be ciunted as one album.

 

So which is it??

sis omg I'm glad you weren't there with us when this happened. She scrapped a whole album produced by redOne, some fans heard the lead single ''Frankenstein'' and they described it as a dark pop song, similar to bad romance. Angel Down from Joanne is from those 2015 sessions with RedOne.

Obviously, every artist will have a lot of demos and a lot of unreleased tracks. But with the Haus, it just seems different

because the Haus consists of close friends that teamed up working together. It‘s just their nature to try new directions and scrap it if something doesn‘t work for all the members.

I feel like that is the correct way.

 When you compare overall performance with other huge eras from that time period, like Teenage Dream or 1989 - anything from era lenght, to number of singles, to touring, to recurrent streams and so on - thinking of TFM as a single 'era' makes much more sense and gives a better understanding of her career trajectory than TF/TFM as separate eras.

It paints the picture of: ubiquitous debut era -> hyped up, yet controversial sophomore album that divides the public -> 3rd album failure due to attention drifing away towards newer artists.

That's much more accurate than this weird "3 big-ish eras followed by a flop album that everybody was extremely shocked underperformed for whatever reason". Seeing TFM as a single era makes you understand why the fall from grace during ARTPOP was all that shocking to begin with.

I understand why our fanbase tends to separate them, as they are thematically different and Gaga herself appears to think of them as separate works. They each have their own iconic singles and moments.

But I believe, from a more objective, GP-friendly approach, it makes more sense to see them as a whole.

On sales pages on Wikipedia they’re counted together
