Sarah Palin: "We will not implement at all socialism in America."

Most Americans who are opposed to free healthcare aren’t necessarily opposed because of their irrational fear of socialism. They fear the quality of free healthcare. A lot believe that everything from the government oversight to the hands on care from the medical staff will be far below the standard of the current healthcare system. It will be very hard to implement any new system in this country until the baby boomers are out of the equation. Maybe even longer then that from what I’ve seen of some younger people as well :fail:

This. AOC and Bernie’s social programs, aren’t socialism. America has had Social Security from the 1930s before conservatives’ “ideal 1950s crony capitalist America #MAGA.” It’s so funny to me...

Bernie’s healthcare program is actually somewhat capitalist compared to what we have in my country, for example. Here there’s no universal “insurance”, everything is maintained through taxpayer money, and, although far from perfect, it works relatively well for a developing country. No politician, as right-wing as he/she might be, would suggest dismantling it. That is, if he/she wants to be re-elected, since 3/4 of our population depends on this system and has no access to health insurances.
If it works here, I can imagine it would work even better in the US, with all the money they have.

Don’t Alaskans get stipends?

Didn’t Palin herself increase the stipend amount at some point because it’s politically expedient??

Not sure how to explain to fellow Americans that it isn’t socialism or communism to give a **** about other people - or to use our resources toward the betterment of society.

Capitalism and rugged individualism have really done a number on the US :madge:

You're overestimating these people's intellectual capabilities. The socialist stigma and the leftovers from Cold War era propaganda are very much the main reason America isn't as progressive as other first world countries. If this wasn't the case, you could at least convince them by making them look at how public healthcare perfectly works in almost every other country, but yet they take this argument the wrong way and twist it back to the beginning.

Former First Lady of the United States. Now card-carrying member of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

It's laughable. Socialism is arguably just Christianity by another name. I know that's a bit glib, but it's not a million miles off. Can somebody not just knock their god-fearing woodenheads together and say 'guys, this is the stuff that Jesus asked you to do'.

Social media..the internet...chat rooms...

Instant news....

Now, throw in every possible ideology and wha lah....

You get the USA....

Other countries where this works and that works ect. don't have nearly the same issues because the population mix is less diversified...

Its easy to say we're all Spanish, or where all saudi, or Irish, or Chineae.. ect...

Saying where all Americans doest wash as easily since the diversity gaps are so huge.....

Race, gender, sexuality , religion all vary far more in the US cities and rural area that in those countries that 'free' health care works....

like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. My words give a clue, look inside to see whats true
