The more you expected, the more you will get disappointed.

It's usually those films with just a few buzz at first being the ultimate winners

Who says it has anything to do with winning awards? ASIB was top 10 on literally every single year end list. If the Gucci movie can manage even half of that, it will be a success.

Not to mention Gaga won best actress at Critics Choice Awards, National Board of Review and several prominent critics circles.

The comment above which you replied to was talking about the ultimate "winners" - so i assumed they were talking about awards season - and to an extent it's somewhat true, it's usually the underdog that usually wins however that depends on the given year.

And fyi I wasn't taking credit away from the incredible award run Gaga received - yes the film and soundtrack did amazingly well and it's had a lasting impact however it didn't do as well as some people predicted awards wise in other major categories. ASIB was pretty much snubbed in all major categories apart from original song when it truly did deserve more. The fact Bradley Cooper went home empty handed (even though he gave the best performance of his career) during the main awards shows says everything. At least he got 2 Grammy's and a BAFTA for the soundtrack. :bradley:

you can serve it to me ancient city style...

A crime movie with an original soundtrack? :laughga: What is she going to sing? "We're far from the prison now"?

That makes no sense. ASIB had huge buzz right from the beginning.

And did it win any big category from major awards at last?

No, and it actually deserved only music awards.

But don't worry, we will go watch Gucci anyway. Just don't think only about getting major awards.

But winning is not everything , the fact that ASIB was nominated at every award show means it was among the top 5 movies of 2018. I just want Gucci to have critical acclaim, awards will come later

The way we've got an Oscar nominated cast building up is making this film really increase in credibility. It looks like it could be a bigger hit than I originally anticipated. A release date nearly a year away is going to be a real slog but it'll be worth it. And filming begins in March, which is earlier than I thought, so yay for that. And Bullet Train has been filming for nearly a month now, which is maybe why Gaga's been so quiet lately. I could see her maybe doing one song, whether it's an opening/closing number but not a soundtrack. Crime films based on true stories tend to be more score-focused and I'm sure this will be the movie where she'll really want to show her acting chops and nothing else. Though it would be cool if she got involved for the score too, seeing as those have their own awards too.

You have no idea how excited I am not only for the amazing storyline and drama but the god damn environement, where fashion lives, it will be the most spectacular movie ever, I already know this is going to go in my list of favorite movies that I will rewatch, there's no way it'll be bad :teehee:

I hope they work with an amazing costume person like Catherine Martin or Milena Canonero. It’s gonna be an enviable wardrobe! :saira:

Oh honey the support won't last long at all. Don't worry. I'm sure they'll trash her soon.

Wait until they find out no plans were made to release a dark and catchy pop anthem full of choreo and avat-garde fashion to promote the crime thriller.

From a business perspective, sure, I could see them wanting to do another soundtrack, but I think Gaga's self-aware enough to know that her music shouldn't define her acting career.

Also though, ASIB required a main song/sountrack because of the nature of the film. Nothing in Gucci points to that. If they wanted to do a song, it'd have nothing to do with the movie from a creative perspective, and I think Gaga wouldn't really approve of that.

The most I could see Gaga doing is potentially a little song at the very beginning or during the credits.

Plus, isn't it a little weird the main character's voice is used for one of the film's songs? Lol I'd be a little confused as an audience member. Maybe if there has to be an original song to open the opportunity for an Original Song nomination, then let Gaga write it and give it to someone else. She'll get her Oscar anyways.
