Gaga’s lack of Grammy noms shouldn’t be a surprise

Hm, I don't know. There is obviously space for smaller and more obscure albums and artists to get big nominations. And huge in your face eras aren't everything, I mean just look at the Weekend -- couldn't have had more promo. 

The Grammys can be hard to predict. Their taste and sensibilities vary year to year, there is always someone left out and people who seem like plants. I can't get upset about it anymore, and I think Gaga must feel the same way... nice to be recognized, but can't be your definition of success.

I mean, it’s not like BTW which got huge promotion and was released during her imperial era got much. It only got one more nomination than Chromatica and won none. 

They clearly do like her tho, they make sure to give her at least one nom every time (sans ARTPOP). She didn’t even campaign while the biggest artist of the year got snubbed big time.

There was no snub. Chromatica is "the best" only in the fans' minds. The album and the singles are not among the best of the year, sorry.

Snub is definitely a wrong word to use here, I agree! She scored 2 nominations which is still a great achievement! The real snub this year is The Weeknd! But seeing Yummy nominated for Pop Solo over Stupid Love for example or albums like Chilombo and Everyday Life over Chromatica is a surprise! But then again Fiona Apple and After Hours didn't receive a nomination either so expected for them to choose Future Nostalgia for example and not Chromatica (I was expecting that they will nominate one of them and not both)

I mean, like I said before, BTW was released when she was at her peak in popularity and received massive amounts of promo, and it got only 3 noms and no wins. It ain’t about the promo. If anything, the Recording Academy seems to like her bc they’ve given her at least one nomination per album except ARTPOP.
