I didnt even know this was possible? I think this is something only rich people can get away with, because normally, you would get taxed for a "gift" that big. Even some Oprah or tvshow winners, get taxed a percentage of what they won on the show.

He did cover the taxes for them as well

I actually understand where he's coming from. I'd do the same if I could. I just counted and I have 13 friends that I'd give my life for without a second of hesitation. So being able to give them 1 million each would actually make me immeasurably happy. Happier than I've ever been in my life.

Charity would come second.

That's nice of him, I would do the same if I had that much money. I mean why not

Also he DOES do a ton of charitable work, including fighting poverty, so it's not like he was choosing to give to his friends instead or something...

Fine fair enough, I’ll give you one hour to go online and find one poor and hungry person that is friends with George... :interestinga:

That one poor and hungry person is me.

Where's my money, Mr. Clooney? :gayhat:

The most shocking part of this whole story is “14 closest friends” :fatcat: I have like 3 closest friends, and another 3 that I was once close to and now we’re just friends.

Also I can’t fathom giving this kind of thing in cash. As someone who works at a bank I can tell you one strap of hundreds is $10k, and you would need one hundred straps to get a million dollars. That’s a lot of physical paper, and this “gift” would be a bitch to put together.

"I just need to withdraw $14 million in cash please"

"Mr. Clooney, I have the FBI on speed dial"

From the article:

“Not all were doing so well at the time, however.

'One was working at a bar in Texas at the airport, trying just to support his family, rides a bicycle to work every day,'”

His friend are rich so not impressed, once he does that for the hungry and poor than I’ll applaud him... :neyde:

In 2017 alone, he donated 21 million to charities, ones that support the hungry and poor around the world. He and his wife give a great deal of their time and money to helping those in need.
