I don't understand the anger at him acting like the businessman he is, specially when taylor has acted like a (good) businesswoman many times as well.

Nice pay day for him....but given her intent to re-record those songs, you've got to ask why would anyone buy them unless they can work with Swift or she's ( or her new record label) are part of that consortium.

Either way when will Superman come back to UK spotify???

Dumb decision from whoever bought them if it’s not somebody associated with Taylor because if Taylor re-records her albums, the master will lose value therefore the buyer will never get the money back.

My only guess is that Republic Records bought it for Taylor and if they did, that would be a win win for Taylor and them, one can only hope

she was never offered the opportunity, she has more than enough money to buy them back

I'm not siding with Scooter at all, but that's not entirely true, her networth is around 360 million dollars, which includes her real state property, cars, etc, so she'd be cutting it really, really close. Realistically, she'd have to work out a deal to buy them on a one by one basis and use the royalties to keep buying the rest, which is possible.

I'm only mentioning this to put into perspective how highly valued her music has become, to the point that even she could barely afford to own it as it is. A true reverse warhoolian experience :sis:

my apologies I don't know everything on the financial side of hers

thanks for educating me

however I do agree to an extent that if she got the opportunity to buy them she would have come up with a way to make it work

I think she bought them back. In the Rolling Stone interview with Paul McCartney, she mentions that she loves pseudonyms and wants to play her old songs for the "300-millionth-and-first time."

But I could be wrong.

Edit: And Paul McCartney had a similar problem involving masters decades ago (Michael Jackson bought the Beatles masters in the 80s)

They were made for each other :ally:

She scams her fans

He scams her

It's like a reverse Robin Hoodian expedition.

It's beyond me why people spend so much time fighting for money when it's the thing that matters the less.

Why do you want that money for? Aren't you happy already with your millions?

How much did he buy them for?

Except Taylor wants the art she created. She's not flipping a house.
