BTW had a really diverse mix of genres and sounds. From metal to rock to pop to techno it really was an amazing album and her best yet in my opinion.

Born This Way and ARTPOP

Born This Way has disjointed beats and that gothic/ metal feel in several songs (Bloody Mary, Governmwent Hooker, Heavy Metal Lover) and isn't 100% following the tropes and formulas found in most pop songs.

And ARTPOP is experimental and quirky in its own way as well, especially the title track.

Not this discussion again.... literally only HML and GH have some experimentalism to them and that's already it for Gaga.

Electric Chapel? Bloody Mary? Americano? :saladga: the overall sound of the album is a mix of EDM music with 80s pop, rock and metal so it's experimental. Experimental doesn't mean "crazy electronic sounds".

Of course it is Smile. It is so experimental to keep the same vibe o of TD and Prism:bear:

(Just to warn that I really like smile, but it is undeniably similar to her old albums. Katy cats pls don't drag me:billie:)

But anyways, Chromatica is not experimental. Born this way is really good and innovative, but ARTPOP is the most experimental of all with its clashing sounds and quirky rithym

Born This Way undoubtedly. The main element of the whole album is this fusion of different genres, sounds and even languages. Even though we tend to say ARTPOP is an experimental record and it does have some huge highlights such as Venus and Aura but overall there isn't much experimentalism besides, perhaps, the lyrical content.

None are really experimental :rip: In Gaga terms, they are, considering it was new for her. I can see some songs off of BTW being kinda experimental, but that's about it.

I like dancin', and ponies....

Stans really need to learn what experimental music is

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

StressedOut

ARTPOP had more songs that diverged from a typical song structure, Aura/Venus, and more varied vocal delivery.

I don't really think any of these albums is all that experimental though. Gaga is more versatile than experimental, if that makes sense.

Stans also need to understand that they think they want "experimental" music, but they don't.

Take something like the Free Woman Honey Dijon remix. In the grand scheme of things, that remix is not that ""experimental,"" but compared to a lot of Gaga's stuff, it is. And fans hated it. People don't wanna admit they want the commercial pop, dance songs. There's absolutely nothing with that either, but I hate that people are like, "Oh, I want this artsy fartsy, experimental, high brow" sh*t when they don't :selena:

I've said it before and I'll say it again: when people in this site say they want Gaga to release experimental music, what they mean is that they want music that sounds like something SOPHIE would produce :smh:

(this is not a shade to SOPHIE I love ha Gaga please collab with SOPHIE)

BTW by miles! The instrumental choices were wild, I love how every song on the album is distinct and unique. I feel like on all of her other albums there are songs where you could switch the instrumentals and the songs would still fit, but I can’t think of any on BTW!
