911 backlash from Armenians

ya'll I'm reading the newer YouTube comments from 911 and other Armenian videos made about her, chile :wtfga:

Initially we all know gaga got them praises from Armenia because she represented Armenian culture,

But because 911 was released before *I think* majority of the escalation of war between Azerbaijan and Armenia

some Armenians now have been commenting a recurring theme of the 911 video: (whilst calling a witch, etc. the usual :triggered:

"lady gaga is Armenia, the man in the black suit is Turkey and the woman in white dress is Russia. this is about the war in armenia and azerbadjan, as you can see the left leg of lady gaga is bruised, karaback is kind of the left leg of armenia. the man in black puts a ring around lady gaga's left leg. a manipulation or grab for karaback by turkey. as you can see the war has been going on for over a month and ended on November 9th this year 9/11/2020 clip is called 911. this clip was released 9 days before the war. so just a prediction"

"This was the war((( gaga’s personage is Armenia, the man in black is turkey and the girl in white is Russia ,,,, look at the end when the man in black puts a ring on her leg,, guys that means the capitulation which was signed the previous night(((and its sign for Nakhijevan"

I mean why does gaga always have to get hate:cryga:, she always works hard and made one of the most visually stunning videos within the perimeters of pop music in a very very long time.

From the way I'm seeing it the new comment section is basically:

- Armenians saying that this was a warning?

- Armenians dragging her (because Armenia recently lost in their war)

- People from Azerbaijan praising her

Chile... ya'll thought this was a flop apparently 911 has been hot in Europe :enigma:

Serial Chiller

Lmao even the official account of the country stans her video so... who cares about the opinion of youtube commenters?

Also, I find it misleading that she “appropriates” Armenian culture for a video. No, there was a clear context - clear purpose of paying homage to a specific film maker and artist, who happens to set his art in the Armenian backdrop/culture. It goes beyond the costumes and the set- it’s the whole artistic direction- the subversive and psychedelic nature of his film and how it resonates with the meaning 911.

This isn’t like Katy Perry who simply donned a kimono or cosplayed as Iris because it looks cool without any rhyme or reason. And I find it insulting that people cannot draw this distinction.

LMAO one thing I will say about this though is that I actually LOVE the interpretations (even as crazy as these). It means Gaga is doing her job as an artist and is making people think (or reach in this case but I digress lol). Loves it.

That said I hope there is peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. I know it's a complicated and long lasting issue but I hope this peace treaty lasts. I know Armenians view it as a loss and a capitulation to Azerbaijan, Turkey and Russia but hopefully this can be the beginning of a new chapter. Maybe a tense and difficult one but nonetheless a fresh start. Let's see.

This video has nothing to do with country. She pays homage to a filmmaker Sergei Pharajanov, especially his movie The Color Of Pomegranates. In this movie he told a story of Armenian poet and musician Sayat Nova in a poetic way and that's what she did in the video, she told a story in a poetic way.

Wasn’t that the place that one person here said something about how no one knew who gaga was or something like that (they were bashing gaga) and saying ASIB was a smash...

Gagaism

Besides the visual references she got in the MV, I see it being something spiritual more than anything else tb quite honest.
