I completely agree, whenever famous men who get accused of these types of abuses it seems like fans are desperate to use DARVO tactics, or make the situation seem black and white by painting the famous millionaire as the victim. On another note, this Fantastic Beasts franchise is a mess, isn't it? The last movie under-performed critically and commercially and now the main villain of the franchise has been ousted. The focus of FB seems strained as well, I don't know whether it is primarily Newt Scamander's story or Dumbledore's. alecks 747 Posted November 10, 2020 Share Posted November 10, 2020 Honestly what’s annoying about this is that he should never have been cast as Grindelwald to begin with. JK was always adamant about a British cast for British roles within the HP movies, to keep the authenticity. Same with other nationalities. Grindelwald is Hungarian, not American, and Johnny Depp really doesn’t fill the role well. He looks nothing like the young Grindelwald already established in Deathly Hallows. He was arguably the worst part of the last movie and already had controversy surrounding him during the first movie. So now they have to figure out how to recast him and fit it into the narrative, which was already established in the HP series with no mention of him being transfigured into a different appearance.
