He's been losing all night.

That's what I was saying. The other user said he/she predicted that Trump would win and I'm saying he's losing :bradley:

I am stupid to think it's over lol.

Even if it were over right now, if they stopped counting everything, Biden would still be the winner.

Biden beats Obama's record with 69,866,826 popular vote.

Then again, since 2008 the US population grew by about 25 million people. This turnout is good, but it's not only because of the stakes in this election.

Per Google, right now -- Biden 50.1% 69,892,554, Trump 48.2% 67,248,037. So, not a massive lead really, but it may grow. (California takes a long time to fully report, for instance.)

This "record" is kinda pointless (no offense to the OP), because it goes up naturally as the population grows, which it does pretty much continuously. It's like Trump bragging about the stock market hitting an all-time high -- something it does almost every year (and even on most days), since it trends upwards at about 7% a year in the long term, decade after decade, and only rarely suffers a crash.

The disappointment is that Democrats will not gain control of the Senate. Not only is this bad for them as a whole, but it’s terrible for progressives who won’t have more leverage and will be hurt by Democrats inability to get anything through the Senate.

Biden is going to win... if all the states that are currently leaning blue stay that way, that gets him to 270

Too early to say that. It's tight, yes.

It may not be resolved until the run-off in January.

exactly, this topic is kinda pointless because as you said, the US population increased by 25 milliion people, meaning that these numbers are easier to reach in 2020 than 12 years ago. And in 2040 or so, both candiddtes will get numbers that are higher than that

It only makes sense to compare % with % by year
